  1. Can Carabao top Trump?published at 19:12 British Summer Time 22 August 2017

Of course, it's not the first time the draw for a League Cup round has been held outside of the United Kingdom.

Who can forget the Rumbelows Cup quarter-final draw back in the 1991-92 season, when Donald Trump pulled the numbers out of the hat in New York on the ‘Saint and Greavsie’ show.

"That’s a biggie," said the future President of the USA after pairing Leeds with Manchester United.

Hello and welcome along to our coverage of the EFL Cup.

Gone are the days when the end of a round's action would be immediately followed by the draw for the next round as a new season and new sponsor means it is all change in the competition this year.

With Thailand-based drinks company Carabao on board the EFL Cup is going global with draw for the third round taking place in Beijing.

While the time of the draw is a rather pleasant 11:15am over there, back here in Britain it's an eye-wateringly early 4:15am.

Best get stocking up on the coffee.

Everyone loves a giantkilling act - the plucky underdogs upsetting the odds by claiming a Premier League scalp.

If it's your side doing the giantkilling, you then get to bask in the glory of dominating the headlines for a few hours at least before thoughts start to turn to the next round.

Chelsea at home? Maybe Manchester United away? It's every lower league football fan's dream...

... until the alarm goes off at 4am so that you can follow the draw for the next round.
