    Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting

David de Gea isn't saving this one though.

From the resulting corner, Phil Jones is caught out, desperately trying to back pedal and reach the ball but Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting judges it perfectly.

The Stoke striker rises and nods it into the top corner, with De Gea stranded.

Terrific from Stoke's summer signing - his first two goals for the club coming against Manchester United. Ropey play from Jones.

Wow. What a reaction save that was. That was absolutely world class. There was no time to think about that other than spontaneous reaction and he did enough to push it over the bar.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 62 mins

    Stoke 1-2 Man Utd

Save of the season so far by David de Gea.

Stoke break down the left and the ball is fired in for Jese, who sees his first-time effort tipped over by his fellow Spaniard from point-blank range.

    Reactions.

That's what Manchester United do to you.

Allen had no chance under pressure and it was a simple through ball. That was the first thing Lukaku has done this afternoon.

GOAL - Stoke 1-2 Man Utdpublished at 57 mins

    Romelu Lukaku

Joe Allen is caught in possession by Matteo Darmian, who surges forward to feed Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Armenian clips a sublime pass beyond the Stoke defence and into the path of Romelu Lukaku, who sees his first effort saved by Jack Butland.

The Belgian reacts quicker though and sweeps in the rebound.

A fourth league goal this season for Lukaku, who was tight with the last man but just about onside. Lovely stuff from Mkhitaryan.

Joe Allen now finds space running through the middle to play in Jese but Matteo Darmian recovers well to tackle.

Danger not over though as Xherdan Shaqiri picks it up and curls in a nice-looking cross but no Stoke players had made the run.

Mark Hughes launches another tirade as Mame Biram Diouf isn't awarded a free-kick after a collision with Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

His side continue to show plenty of promise after the break though.

United have been a touch sloppy after the restart.

I can see Mourinho voicing his opinions to the United players and waving his finger. You can see why he's not happy because Stoke have had most of the possession so far in the second half.

Nervy moments for Man Utd as Stoke win a corner of their own and almost benefit from a lucky deflection a la Rashford's equaliser.

United clear and suddenly it's Stoke scrambling to clear before Romelu Lukaku puts in a crunching tackle on Joe Allen. No card, just a chat.

United take it short and eventually win another corner.

This one is cleared but the visitors have it again, swinging it left before Paul Pogba picks it up in the middle.

The Frenchman's curling effort is straight at Jack Butland though.

Marcus Rashford hoping to pick up where he left off down the left but his latest effort is blocked.

United go again and replacement Bruno Martins Indi deflects behind to concede the corner.

Well Lukaku doesn't get the hook at half-time.

But Bruno Martins Indi will replace Geoff Cameron for the hosts.

After the first 10 minutes we have barely seen Romelu Lukaku. It wouldn't surprise me if he gets the hook for the second-half - even if he did cost £75m.

These players' positions are up for competition.

Just seen a better replay of United's equaliser - Marcus Rashford is clearly onside by a couple of yards, with two Stoke defenders playing him on.

Not quite sure what the hosts were so incensed about in the aftermath. Did they think there was a handball? Perfectly good goal.

Nathan House: United have been better in the second half of every PL game this season.... here's hoping anyway!

Michael Devlin: That's the weakness Mark Hughes spotted. Long ball over the head United's left back. Stoke's been trying that all game.

Louis Porter: Missing Juan Mata. He is always on the move, making runs and freeing up teammates. Get him on at the half.

Man Utd have had 69% of possession and been on the front foot, reflected in the average positions.

But Stoke have been bright and the likes of Choupo-Moting, Jese and Shaqiri are causing the visitors problems, with Fletcher and Allen looking to provide from deep.

    Stoke 1-1 Man Utd

A bright opening, followed by a lull but then capped off with two goals within just 161 seconds of each other.

That'll do for the first half as Neil Swarbrick blows his whistle.

Rage in Mark Hughes' eyes as he storms off down the tunnel.
