    Stoke 1-1 Man Utd

Stoke's players remonstrated for a long time with referee Neil Swarbrick after that equaliser.

Mark Hughes is incensed, to put it mildly.

Not long left in added time.

    Marcus Rashford

An almost instant equaliser and a bit of an odd one.

United surge forward after the restart and win a corner.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan swings it in, it's flicked on by Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba rises but can only head it into the back of Marcus Rashford's head and it falls in.

Was Rashford offside? Not sure - it's tight on first viewing but doesn't seem he was. That goes down as the England striker's goal.

That was top drawer. Choupo-Moting will be delighted with that. He isn't fully fit but he looked fit enough to stretch for that.

    Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting

The first goal Man Utd have conceded in the Premier League this season and it's a lovely one from Stoke.

The hosts hold onto the ball for a long time before Darren Fletcher swings out a delicious long pass to Mame Biram Diouf down the right.

The former United player cracks the cross and Choupo-Moting loses his marker to sweep it past David de Gea.

    Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

Stoke do manage a crisp passing move, Choupo-Moting with a nice drag back and pass down the line for Shaqiri to barge Lukaku off the ball and try to find a team-mate.

But once again the move falls down, with United surging up the other end but Zouma does well to hack it away from Rashford.

    Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

Odd game to sum up so far. Plenty of early promise but that's fizzled out a bit.

At the same time, both sides look capable of stringing a crisp move together and unlock the opposition defence.

United doing slightly more of that but Stoke's defending has been resolute enough for now.

    Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

Man Utd's defence are playing with their heads up and looking for Marcus Rashford over the top early.

Yet another such ball sees the young forward put just about permissible pressure on a Stoke defender to give the visitors a throw deep in the opposition half.

Midfield General: Fletcher needs to relax. Stop dying your hair blonde too. Like him using his left peg, it doesn't look natural.

Louis Porter: Rashford needs to stop putting his head down and taking everyone on. Look up sometimes for the pass. Martial does that...

    Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

Antonio Valencia is relishing the space given to him down the right - Erik Pieters isn't doing a good enough job of covering the Man Utd right-back so far.

Once again Valencia is clear and putting in another decent cross that Stoke scramble to clear.

    Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

Former United player Mame Biram Diouf (yes, he was at Old Trafford) is down now with a knock to the ankle.

A few twists of it on the turf and he's alright to continue.

    Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

Marcus Rashford has space to run at Stoke down the left but Mame Biram Diouf does well to get back and not foul the England striker in the area before finally hacking clear.

    Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

Antonio Valencia and Romelu Lukaku colluding and bamboozling the Stoke defence down the right, the former whipping in a terrific cross that Kurt Zouma does well to only clatter out for a corner.

From the set-piece the ball falls to Nemanja Matic, who thumps his effort well over the bar.

    Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

    Thoroughly enjoyable game, this.

Stoke see Rashford's chance and try to raise it with Shaqiri.

The Swiss unleashes another long shot but once again De Gea is equal to it.

Both keepers impressing in the first half hour.

  14. CLOSE!published at 28 mins

    Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

Marcus Rashford is on song so far. The England striker drops the shoulder in the Stoke area, losing his man and curling it with his right.

Jack Butland makes another smart save but nearly deflects it straight into Romelu Lukaku's path - not to worry, the Belgian was offside.

  15. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

Neat interplay from Stoke down the right - Joe Allen, Jese and Mame Biram Diouf all combining to set up Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Swiss can't resist striking from distance - a decent effort but David de Gea reads it all the way, diving to his left to gather.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 24 mins

    Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

Tremendous pass from Eric Bailly, playing in Marcus Rashford, who streaks clear of the Stoke defence but sees his low effort repelled by Jack Butland.

Gorgeous ball from Bailly, worthy of any playmaker. He's curved that right into Rashford's path from inside his own half.

Stoke are finding it hard at the moment to find the front three.

Although in the stats the Potters have had more chances, they are being out-possessed by Manchester United.

Darren Fletcher gets his head up and plays in Jese, who's intended through ball is hit too near Antonio Valencia for Erik Pieters to reach.

Valencia then errs to concede a throw-in but United are finally able to clear.

Ander Herrera's radar is wonky today. Another attempted cross lands a fair distance away from his intended target and Stoke can clear from the goal-kick.

Lukaku now thinks he's got a clear chance on goal but is called for offside. Butland made the save anyway.
