Not the best tackle from Ashley Young either, off the floor and into the book he goes. From the free-kick Manuel Akanji heads down and David de Gea saves. Basel's best effort yet.

  2. Postpublished at 20:24 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Manchester United 1-0 Basel

    Chris Waddle

It was a great ball in from Ashley Young. They switched the ball early and that's exactly what they have to do in this game.

  4. goal

GOAL - Manchester United 1-0 Baselpublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Marouane Fellaini (35 mins)

Say what you like about Marouane Fellaini but he's certainly effective and he has the knack of scoring at the right time in big games. Wonderful run and cross from Ashley Young on the right, clipped in at height and the big Belgian provides a perfect header down and in.

  5. CLOSE!published at 20:21 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Man Utd 0-0 Basel

They've barely been in the United half but Basel have a great chance to take the lead. Blas Riveros' cross is headed down in the area and falls to Luca Zuffi, who fires his fierce shot wide.

  6. goal

GOAL - Celtic 0-2 PSGpublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Kylian Mbappe (34 mins)

    My bad.

Kylian Mbappe makes it two in two since his move from Monaco as Neymar heads the ball back, Edinson Cavani's air-kick turns into a useful dummy to allow Mbappe to fire high into the roof of the net.

  7. Postpublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Celtic 0-1 PSG

PSG look, as you'd expect, a classy side so far tonight. But Celtic are still well in the game as we reach the half-hour point.

    Manchester United 0-0 Basel

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Spurs and England winger on 5 live Sport

Basel are going to rely on their home form in this group, you will see them sitting back a lot in the away games. Let's be honest, if they open themselves up then Manchester United will score.

  10. Pogba's hamstring problempublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Man Utd 0-0 Basel

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

That looked like a hamstring injury for Paul Pogba, in which case, Manchester United might be a little bit concerned.

The Frenchman suffered a similar injury in March and missed two matches either side of the international break.

He then missed two more Premier League games in May with a hamstring problem before returning in time to start the Europa League final.

  11. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 2-0 Qarabagpublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Davide Zappacosta (30 mins)

Harry Kane-esque! That's definitely a cross from Davide Zappacosta, surely?

He bursts down the right wing, looks up into the middle and fires in a flat trajectory ball which fizzes into the top corner. Don't believe him if he claims that is a shot...

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Manchester United 0-0 Basel

No messing from Eder Balanta, the Basel defender comes in hard and low on Henrikh Mkhitaryan and he goes into the book. It's the sort of forceful challenge which divides opinion.

  13. Postpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Chelsea 1-0 Qarabag

Equally dominant so far are Chelsea, although they are of course ahead. They haven't created much since they went ahead though.

  14. 'Basel should leave one up the top'published at 20:12 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Spurs and England winger on 5 live Sport

Why do away teams like Basel bring everybody back? When they clear it, it just comes straight back again. They need to leave one up at the top. I don't get it.

  15. Postpublished at 20:12 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Manchester United 0-0 Basel

For those who care about these things, Ashley Young is now wearing the Manchester United armband. Captain Young.

United have had 79% of the possession so far. Utter dominance.

  16. 'It was a bit Basil Fawlty'published at 20:10 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Manchester United 0-0 Basel

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Spurs and England winger on 5 live Sport

He has to score, he just has to score. Lukaku has been lively from the kick-off but he's scuffed it. Mkhitaryan's trying to flick it into the goal but he doesn't get the contact right. It was all just a bit Basil Fawlty.

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:10 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Celtic 0-1 PSG

Celtic so close to an equaliser!

An absolutely brilliant, curling, dipping free-kick from Leigh Griffiths is tipped out at full stretch by Alphonse Areola. Corner comes to nothing.

  18. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Manchester United 0-0 Basel

That's two bad misses already for Henrikh Mkhitaryan! Brilliant from Romelu Lukaku to roll his man inside the area and drag a shot across goal, Mkhitaryan slides in to get there but he can only find the base of the post from a few yards out! His follow-up is straight at the keeper.

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:08 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Barcelona 0-0 Juventus

Gigi Buffon, as old as the hills, is still at it as he makes a flying save to turn over a Luis Suarez shot from 20 yards.

  20. SUBSTITUTION - Pogba offpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

Not exactly a like-for-like sub, but it's Marouane Fellaini on for the stricken Paul Pogba.
