    Liverpool 2-2 Sevilla

More from Jurgen Klopp: "It does not make too much sense to be frustrated, we have to take it. It is not what we wanted, not what we deserved. They had two chances, no more so we were the dominant side and defended well.

"We are good in the counter-attack and it was an unlucky start for us. Things like this can happen but reaction is the important thing.

"We could have scored more often but if we continue playing like this, we will get points. In this moment it does not feel perfect."

On sending-off of Sevilla coach Eduardo Berizzo: "The coach was no problem, but I do not think I had any decision on the referee. I did not ask for it. The people on their bench thought I was responsible for his red card and did not like me too much."

  3. 'Does not feel perfect'published at 22:16 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Liverpool 2-2 Sevilla

    Liverpool

LIverpool manager Jurgen Klopp tells BT Sport: "It was pretty much a winning performance for 85-86 minutes and the team played well against a side who play well. We had answers for everything apart from the goals. I have to see them again. That is not the good thing. It was an exciting game from my side, everyone saw our desire and passion but we got a point.

"We know we have to improve but there is so much potential and we can work with this. It is a draw, it does not feel too good but I am fine with big parts of the performance."

Kane does not strike me as a player who is obsessed with winning the Balon d'or, listening to him speak, he always puts the team first, it's never about 'Harry Kane'. If he wins things as a part of a team, then he'll still be a legendary player.

    Dan, Chelmsford

I really like Jurgen Klopp as a manager, he has built a very solid squad in attack, but the defence is shambolic, especially with the decent cbs they have got. It's mind blowing how players like Matip with such a reputation are wasted when it comes to Liverpool's defensive tactics. Virgil van Dijk would sort that defence out as he's a true leader

  7. 'A step forward'published at 22:07 British Summer Time 13 September 2017

    Feyenoord 0-4 Manchester City

    Manchester City

Man City manager Pep Guardiola on BT Sport: "Last season we couldn’t win one game away from home and we spoke about that. If we want to make a step forward then we have to be important home and away.

"We had a good performance and it was important to score in the first minute. Offensively and in terms of character we played well. There are a lot of things to do but a start like this is so important.

"We have made a huge effort to buy five players to make that step forward, like all the big teams have done in Europe. It’s important to see if we can go away and play with an attacking mentality, not conceding counter-attacks."

    Tottenham 3-1 Borussia Dortmund

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino on BT: "It was so important to win, we are so happy. It was so important to start well in a tough game. Dortmund played really well, they dominated the first half. We increased our level in the second half and we were very clinical in front of goal.

"It is more than three points. At half-time we fixed some problems and modified the position of some players. The tempo of the game decreased which was better for us. Dortmund are a very aggressive team, we struggled a little to pass the ball quickly.

"Sometimes you can't dominate, you have to play a different way and the team is more mature now. We can learn a lot from this game.

    "Harry Kane was fantastic."

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson tells BT Sport: “We could have taken the three points with the chances we created in both halves but they got us on the counter attack. We are disappointed not to take the points but the lads reacted well to the weekend. We looked exciting and could have scored a few more goals.

“We wanted to win the ball back quickly and get the crowd behind us. The lads reacted brilliantly to going behind and there are positives from the game.

"Roberto Firmino has scored penalties for us before, players will always miss penalties. We had plenty more chances to score so we need to be more ruthless and go three or four up. That is football and we have got done."

"I'm trying to work as hard as I can to improve and listen to the manager's advice. Training with players like Kevin will make you better."

Harry Kane on BT: "It's a massive win, nights like this at Wembley, we have to take advantage of it. Last season our downfall was the games at home. It was a more experienced performance from us tonight.

"In the Champions League you have to be smart. You can't always press teams on a big pitch, we took advantage on the counter-attack and exploited the space they left in behind."
