Chance after chance for Liverpool...
Johnny: Only been watching the Liverpool game for last 20 minutes - have Spartak been this rubbish all night? How aren't we ahead?
Yub: Wasteful Liverpool on show tonight. Game should have been wrapped up by now.Defence on the other hand have upped their game tonight
Raheem Sterling (90 mins)
Relief for Pep Guardiola and his staff on the bench as City finally put the rubber stamp on the win. Brilliant play from Bernardo Silva to run clear down the right and cut the ball back for Raheem Sterling, open goal, and he slams in off the underside of the bar.
Spartak Moscow 1-1 Liverpool
Daniel Sturridge! What a chance to win it! He's onside at the back post, leans back and volleys...OVER!
Manchester City 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
Into added time...
Manchester City 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
Leroy Sane fizzes a shot wide from a tight angle as Manchester City still hunt their second goal. Sergio Aguero has been replaced, he won't level any records tonight now.

BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium
Germany midfielder Ilkay Gundogan runs out at the Etihad Stadium for the first time since he ruptured his cruciate knee ligaments against Watford in December.
The former Borussia Dortmund man has had a wretched time of it down the years, missing two major international tournaments through injury.
When I spoke to him in the summer, he was so honest about the mental strain the setbacks have had it is impossible not to wish the best for him.

But can he do it on a warm Tuesday night in Madrid?
He's just a four season wonder Harry Kane.

Calm down people; its APOEL NICOSIA! Let's see Kane rip Real's defence apart next two match days before crowning him King.
Kevin, Edmonton
I know Apoel aren't top opposition but I'm going to throw it out there and say Harry Kane is the best pure no.9 in world football. Fabregas might think it's Costa, Aguero and Suarez are awesome on their day but Kane has the consistency and range of abilities to stand out as the the best.

Spartak Moscow 1-1 Liverpool
Liverpool have handed Daniel Sturridge a chance to win it for them, and his first real involvement sees him spin and shoot wide, but he's offside.
Just five minutes left...
Apoel Nicosia 0-3 Tottenham
Apoel have played well tonight, the 3-0 scoreline flatters Spurs a bit, and ultimately Harry Kane has made the difference.
Manchester City 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
Raheem Sterling wants a second penalty for City as he tumbles inside the area, nothing doing though. City can't put this result to bed.

Ilkay Gundogan is a good player that has been struggling with injuries. We're all delighted to see him back.
Hopefully he can get a good foothold on this game.
Borussia Dortmund 1-3 Real Madrid
It could be game over for Dortmund now as Cristiano Ronaldo has scored his second goal in this game.
He's having a very good evening.

How good is Harry Kane?
Steven: Wow, are there anymore superlatives to say about Kane this guy will break some scoring records
Lewis: If Coutinho is worth €120m in today's market then Kane must be worth as much as the whole Arsenal squad put together
Christopher: I still think Spurs are a one man team. What is the ratio of goals for Kane vs the rest of the team?
Manchester City 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
A standing ovation all around as David Silva is replaced by Ilkay Gundogan.
Spartak Moscow 1-1 Liverpool
Liverpool are doing all of the pushing as we enter the last 10 minutes.
Manchester City 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
And now Sergio Aguero has curled just wide from the edge of the box. City can't put this game to bed.

I think that is a penalty. My initial reaction was it struck John Stones' arm.
It's a penalty for me.
Spartak Moscow 1-1 Liverpool
Trent Alexander-Arnold on the overlap for Liverpool, a neat touch takes him inside a defender and on to his left foot, crashes a shot from the angle and it flies just wide!
Manchester City 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
A very decent penalty claim for the visitors now, as a cross hits the arm of John Stones, who was pointing where he wanted Kyle Walker to go. A very good shout that, you have to say.
