    Manchester City 0-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

    Ally McCoist
Former Scotland striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Donetsk certainly haven't been disappointing. They have been the more attacking-minded of the two sides.

They are not playing like a side who have not won in England.

Manchester City have a game on their hands.

Donetsk are no mugs, we know that much. Sergio Aguero is almost in behind but he's muscled off the ball by some fine last-ditch defending.

    Man City 0-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Someone could do a study of Pep Guardiola's movements during a match.

It's as fascinating as what is happening on the pitch at times, although it is fairly obvious what he meant when he through his arms up, then dropped them as Gabriel Jesus gave possession away.

He has just had a brief exchange with Shakhtar coach Paulo Fonseca - and it wasn't of the friendly variety.

It's still goalless between Monaco and Porto in Group G.

Besiktas, Napoli and Real Madrid all have a narrow 1-0 lead.

Wissam Ben Yedder has just given Sevilla the lead over NK Maribor.

The Premier League trio not having things all their own way so far tonight then. Apoel have come into this game and look a decent outfit at the moment.

    Manchester City 0-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

    Ally McCoist
Former Scotland striker on BBC Radio 5 live

I can't believe we've not had much action from the goalkeepers because there have been two or three good chances.

The forward players on the pitch have made it a good game so far.

  8. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 26 September 2017

    Spartak Moscow 1-0 Liverpool

Liverpool have the ball in the net instantly - but Sadio Mane is well offside as he stoops to head home a cross from the right.

  9. 'Donetsk more dangerous'published at 20:10 British Summer Time 26 September 2017

    Manchester City 0-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

    Ally McCoist

There is no doubt that City have their work cut out.

The Ukrainians have possibly looked the more dangerous of the two sides.

GOAL - Spartak Moscow 1-0 Liverpoolpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 26 September 2017

    Fernando (23 mins)

Against the run of play Spartak lead! Philippe Coutinho gives away a free-kick on the edge of the area and Fernando - not the one who played for Manchester City - steps up and bends it home!

Hit hard, with whip - but fairly central. Loris Karius should do better there?

Pep's certainly giving West Brom boss Tony Pulis a run for his money this season when it comes to the ice white footwear.

He's gone for the casual look tonight with his black zip up hoody style jacket and his jumper white tshirt combo, but it's the bright white box fresh look trainers that catch the eye in the technical area.

    Manchester City 0-0 Shakhtar Donestsk

Leroy Sane leads a cracking attack down the City left, two backheels in the build-up but the German can't quite link up with Gabriel Jesus in the middle. Good game, both sides dangerous on the ball.

And now Nicosia hit the post! Son had a chance with a header at one end and moments later Igor de Camargo hits a speculative shot from a tight angle and it thuds away off the post!

    That was close!

  15. 'Donetsk look sharp'published at 20:04 British Summer Time 26 September 2017

    Manchester City 0-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

    Ally McCoist
Former Scotland striker on BBC Radio 5 live

I'm loving the football we are seeing from Shakhtar Donetsk.

They are playing the ball into the wide men well. They really do look sharp, particularly in the last five minutes.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:03 British Summer Time 26 September 2017

    Spartak Moscow 0-0 Liverpool

    Roberto FirminoImage source, Reuters

Chance! What a save that is. Sadio Mane bends in a beauty of a cross from the left, Roberto Firmino powers in a header from eight yards out, and a big one-handed save from Artem Rebrov!

He should score. Good save though!

  17. Postpublished at 20:02 British Summer Time 26 September 2017

    Apoel Nicosia 0-0 Tottenham

Half a chance for the hosts as Roland Sallai gets between two defenders and heads a cross wide. Never looked like threatening Hugo Lloris to be honest.

  18. Elsewhere in Europe...published at 20:01 British Summer Time 26 September 2017

    Besiktas 1-0 RB Leipzig

Former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has given Besiktas the lead after 11 minutes against RB Leipzig.

Shakhtar now having a good spell, they are very tidy on the ball. Ederson has to be off his line smartly to sweep up. Great football.

Spurs still on top, in terms of possession anyway, but they haven't crafted anything since that early Son chance.
