  2. Who's through already?published at 19:04 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

Lots of teams had the chance to book a spot in the last 16 last night, but only two ended up taking them.

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren says a "disgusting" death threat against his family was sent to him on social media.

The 28-year-old Croat was heavily criticised for his performance in the Reds' 4-1 Premier League defeat at Tottenham on 22 October.

In an Instagram story, he shared a screengrab of a private message in which the sender said they would "murder" the footballer's family.

"I cannot ignore when my family is threatened," said Lovren.

    "I just can't and won't accept that."

Lovren was at fault for Tottenham's opening two goals at Wembley, and was substituted by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp after just 31 minutes.

    David SilvaImage source, Reuters

Manchester City midfielder David Silva wants to win the Champions League with Pep Guardiola's side and commit his long-term future to the club.

The former Valencia player, 31, who has been at City since 2010, has 18 months left on his current deal.

Silva helped City win the Premier League in 2012 and 2014, the League Cup in 2014 and 2016, and the 2011 FA Cup.

"I pray every night to win the Champions League with City," said Silva.

Pep Guardiola must not have liked that news conference - he's dropped Silva to the bench tonight...

This is the slightly bizarre subterranean walk that you have to take to get to the press room at Stadio San Paolo. As you can see you are underneath the stands and also below the level of the playing surface.

In fact if my memory serves my correctly I seem to remember England and Cameroon marching up some steps and appearing from underground as they came onto the pitch for the World Cup quarter-final in 1990.

    A big evening for Spurs?

Mark Cohen: Time for a big performance in a big game for Dele tonight! Can’t go missing again.

Jay Barnes: I have a sneaky suspicion that Harry Kane is going to get Zidane sacked tonight.

    Besiktas 1-1 Monaco

In the early game in Turkey, Besiktas have just drawn with Monaco.

Alvaro Negredo's current club would have been through with a win, but a draw could still be enough depending on how RB Leipzig get on in Porto later on.

    Scarf sellers outside Napoli's stadium

The local heroes are all in evidence on the scarves for sale outside the Stadio San Paolo - Hamsik, Insigne, Mertens - but you can also be sure that El Diego will be there.

The black T-shirt on the top row just to the right of centre bears Diego Maradona's face with the words "Chi ama, non dimentica" - "He who loves, will never forget".

And the Napoli fans will never forget Maradona who brought them two Serie A titles in his time with the club, an achievement the current stars are still striving to match.

They were quarter-finalists last year but Dortmund look like heading out early this time around, not helped by a stinker of a draw.

The German side will be unable to qualify if they lose tonight and Spurs draw with Real.

    BeltImage source, BBC Sport

Like the travelling fans I have been advised to leave my belt at home this evening before making my way to the Stadio San Paolo for the game. This is to prevent the belts being used as weapons which unfortunately was the case in an incident in Manchester when the teams met two weeks ago which has seen a Napoli fan jailed for five months. I forgot to bring my braces as a replacement so the plan is now to go for an extra bowl of pasta for the pre-match meal to extend the waistline to fit the trousers.

I am sure Dele Alli will have been distraught that he missed out at the Bernabeu but he has a chance at Wembley in the Champions League now.

This is where Dele will be judged. I'd like to see him deeper in midfield to be honest but he needs to show up and show people what he is about.

Never try to guess Pep Guardiola's team. He makes four changes from the side who beat West Brom 3-2. Sergio Aguero starts as he seeks the goal to make him Manchester City's all-time top scorer, taking Gabriel Jesus' place.

Danilo replaces Kyle Walker at right-back, while Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan also start. The Silvas - David and Bernardo - are both benched.

Napoli make two changes, both in defence, from their 3-1 win over Sassuolu as Elseid Hysaj and Kalidou Koulibaly start. In-form Dries Mertens starts up front, while Marek Hamsik looks for the goal he needs to equal Diego Maradona's scoring record for the club. Although fair warning, he's only scored once all season.

Real manager Zinedine Zidane is facing criticism in Spain after a shock 2-1 defeat at La Liga minnows Girona on Sunday.

They are eight points behind leaders Barcelona after losing two and drawing two of their opening 10 games and Zidane said: "Perhaps some people might think that after a defeat we are down in the dumps but that's not the case.

"We all know how football works, sometimes you are going to lose matches and it's obviously frustrating.

"After a defeat people aren't happy but in some ways I like this. I like that we have a big game coming up. I feel I work my best in these situations."
