Bad news Spurs fans - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returns to the Borussia Dortmund team tonight.

Striker Aubameyang missed Friday's Bundesliga defeat at Stuttgart as punishment for being late for training and shooting an unauthorised video at the club's training ground. A modern-day suspension if ever there was one.

Aubameyang scored 15 goals in his first 12 appearances this season but has gone five matches without a goal.

On making four changes: "We have a great squad and everyone can play. We have a lot of games and it was important to make changes and freshen the team."

Feyenoord goalkeeper Brad Jones has been warming up by having a succession of shots smashed at him, which probably feels a lot like the opening minutes of his side’s game against Manchester City in September.

City went 3-0 up in the first 25 minutes that night, and went on to add another goal after half-time to get their group campaign under way with a completely one-sided win. They have not really looked back since.

Things have not got much better for Feyenoord, or Jones, in Group F since that night in Rotterdam. The Dutch side have lost all four matches, conceding four goals, and of the 43 goalkeepers to feature in the Champions League this season, only three have a worse shot-save ratio than the former Middlesbrough and Liverpool keeper.

Worst save ratio in CL 2017-18

    1. Julio Cesar (Benfica) Games: 1 Shots on target faced: 8 Saved: 3 (37.5%)
    2. Peter Gulacsi (Leipzig) Games: 4 Shots on target faced: 13 Saved 5 (38.4%)
    3. Iker Casillas (Porto) Games: 2 Shots on target faced: 5 Saved 2 (40%)
    4. Brad Jones (Feyenoord) Games: 4 Shots on target faced: 21 Saved 9 (42.8%)

Zinedine Zidane says he is not worried about Real Madrid's form as he looks for a win over Apoel in Cyprus which would seal the holders' place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Real fell 10 points behind leaders Barcelona in La Liga after a 0-0 draw with city rivals Atletico and have won just once in four games.

"I am optimistic," Zidane said. "We can't say we have been playing badly."

Captain Sergio Ramos and Wales forward Gareth Bale are injured.

I was a bit surprised to see Feyenoord priced at 20/1 to win tonight in a two-horse race but the form book backs the bookies up.

    • City have tasted defeat only once in their last 11 Champions League group stage matches (W7 D3); that loss coming at the Camp Nou against Barcelona in the 2016/17 campaign.
    • Feyenoord however, have lost seven Champions League games in succession; scoring just five times across those fixtures.

The last time Spurs came here they were well beaten in the first leg of a Europa League last 16 tie with Mauricio Pochettino resting most of his key men as they tried to chase Leicester down in the Premier League. They have already qualified for the knockout stages and knowing a win at home to Apoel Nicosia in the last game will also see them finish top of the group regardless of what Real Madrid do in their last two games.

A win tonight sends them through, or if they draw and Dortmund fail to win at home to Spurs.

  10. Cracks at the back?published at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2017

    Manchester City

It sounds ridiculous when considering a side assembled as expensively as Manchester City, but an injury to John Stones at the weekend has left them bereft of cover in defence.

Vincent Kompany played for the first time since August at the weekend while Nicolas Otamendi was suspended.

It meant a rare chance for Eliaquim Mangala, and with Pep Guardiola admitting that it could be risky to play Kompany tonight we may see more of the big Frenchman in the coming weeks.

It is a foul night in Manchester so the sight of the Etihad Stadium through the dark and drizzle will be a welcome sight for all fans - not just those Feyenoord supporters who have walked from the city centre.

From a distance it is an imposing sight as well as a beacon on the horizon, but for a while it was not exactly a fortress for City in the Champions League - they won only five of their first 15 games here in this competition.

But since October 2015 things have been very different, with eight wins out of 11, and no defeats. Not exactly encouraging for the Dutch side, who arrive without a point in Group F.

  13. Too much for Kompany?published at 19:22 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2017

Manchester City v Feyenoord (19:45 GMT)

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola on BT Sport: "Two games in four days is too much for Vincent Kompany after four months out. He could play but with John Stones out he needs to rest."

Could Phil Foden come on? "We are here to win the game, we will see how the game is going.

"They play in the Dutch way, with wingers wide and the ball going where the players are. They will be tough.

"We have qualified and the second target is to win the group. It is better to play the second leg at home."

Talk has already started of Manchester City becoming the new 'Invincibles' by going the full season unbeaten.

Pep Guardiola's side will hope to take it a step further than the Arsenal side of 2003-04 by not losing in ANY competition.

City have won 16 of 18 games so far this term and their unbeaten run stretches back to April, last tasting defeat in the FA Cup semi-final against the Gunners.

... Or at least they were, anyway.

Thousands of the Dutch side's supporters have been camped outside pubs in the city centre all day and were marched up to the stadium together by the police from 5pm.

That's no mean feat by all concerned considering most of the travelling supporters had been on the ale for a few hours - or even a few days in some cases.

It meant closing roads and holding up the tram but they did it - the stragglers arrived at the Etihad Stadium just over half an hour ago, and most of them are already in their seats and making lots of noise already... chanting "Feyenoord" repeatedly just to make sure everyone knows who they are.

Officially, there are 3,000 away fans here tonight, but up to 4,000 are believed to have made the trip.
