Ngolo Kante makes the sort of tackle that only he can, breaking up another Qarabag move. Almost half-time.

Support for the referee regarding Chelsea's penalty.....

Donald: From a different camera angle, it's clear that the referee was right. Sadygov pulled Willian back.

The Real Mo: Another camera angle shows Sadygov pulled Willian's arm. Still soft mind! Goals galore now!!

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 42 mins

    Qarabag 0-2 Chelsea

Chelsea are at Anfield at tea-time on Saturday and Antonio Conte will maybe already be thinking about that game. Changes at half-time?

Pedro puts in a superb run, right through the middle, two players try to take him down, he's off balance but still gets a shot away.

Jakub Rzezniczak is booked for his lunge and Willian curls the free-kick wide.

    Qarabag 0-2 Chelsea

It's difficult to make any sort of case for the hosts coming back into the game now. Chelsea are through to the last 16 with a win tonight of course and it looks like they can start planning now.

    Willian

    BRILLIANT!

What a goal that is. Who needs Alvaro Morata?

Chelsea's front three link up with a beautiful move as Pedro flicks it into the path of Willian, he toes it to Eden Hazard, who backheels it in one movement back into the run of Willian, and he side-foots into the corner. So incisive. So good to watch.

That's a presentable chance! Cesc Fabregas' corner is whipped in and David Luiz meets it first, nodding it wide.

Just seen another replay of the penalty incident - Rashad Sadygov had hold of Willian's wrist. The red card was the right call.

    Qarabag 0-1 Chelsea

That was only Eden Hazard's eighth goal in the Champions League but rather remarkably that makes him the top-scoring Belgian in the competition's history.

Cesar Azpilicueta is so good at playing those early crosses in from a back three. You know the one, Alvaro Morata loves it.

He whips it in again but Eden Hazard is not quite so strong in the air and he can only float a header into the arms of Ibrahim Sehic.

Conor: Very poor penalty and red card decision for me. You'd take it though.

Nii: Penalty harsh. Red card plain robbery.

Mohamed: I’m Chelsea fan but the ref ruined a great match. Let Alone sending off it wasn’t even a penalty!! Feel ashamed.

Qarabag haven't made a change since that early red card, just a tactical reshuffle. Tough for them now. Chelsea are so good on the break at the best of times, do they push on and look for a leveller? At the moment it's Chelsea who are well in control.

The home fans had been vocal before kick-off, they are boiling over now. Qarabag manager Gurban Gurbanov actually held a mini team-talk while Eden Hazard was waiting to take that penalty.

The days of an automatic red card for being the last man are long gone of course.

But deliberate fouls still incur a red card.

Those include holding, pulling or pushing, not playing the ball, serious foul play, violent conduct or deliberate handball in order to deny a goalscoring opportunity.

Rashad Sadygov has been sent off there for what referee Manuel de Sousa has judged to be a push I think. Harsh though.

    Pedro skims a volley wide.

    Eden Hazard (Pen)

He had an awfully long wait as the protestations fell on deaf ears but great pen from Eden Hazard, rolls it into the corner.

That means that Chelsea’s last eight goals on the road in the Champions League have been converted by different players (Batshuayi, Morata, Mikel, Zouma, Oscar, Willian, Cahill, Hazard).

That is softer than soft! A ball through plays in Willian, I'm not sure Rashad Sadygov actually touches him at all and the ref sends him off!

Willian now hits a shot into the back of Eden Hazard. Too many number 10s in the same space? Evertonitis.

Willian has only scored once this season, in the League Cup.

I was quite surprised to see Cesc Fabregas start tonight, thought it could be a game for Danny Drinkwater. But Cesc has been sharp, playing in Willian on the right of the area but his early shot is well blocked.
