    Basel 1-0 Manchester United

Manchester United defender Daley Blind, speaking to BT Sport: "The second half was up and down. It was a good cross and he came round the back and I was a little too late. We have enough confidence in the group, we will be well."

Matteo Darmian added: "We played well in the first half but did not score. We go back to Manchester with a defeat so we have to recover well."

Mike Crew: Once again we haven't turned up in an away game.

Amrul Choudhury: To play these tactics against a team not even from one of the top four or five leagues is criminal. Mourinho needs to wake up.

Fish Hailu: Why didn't Jose play the same team that beat Newcastle? He is so predictable. A wasted opportunity to qualify.

This is how it looks in Group A. Manchester United host CSKA Moscow in their final group game while Basel are at Benfica.

We could conceivably end up with a situation where the top three teams finish on 12 points. A point will still be enough for Manchester United to secure top spot.

We know going to Basel is a tough place to go, but United had enough possession and chances to win this game comfortably. Now, it's going to go down to the wire for them.

As a United fan, I'm very happy with Mourinho.People must have short memories to forget the mind-numbingly boring football we played under Louis van Gaal.

Man United started with a slow build up, I'd have liked to see Pogba on the ball more, and with Lukaku holding it up, and bringing other players in. But they lacked intensity early on.

What a night - and not in a good way. Celtic have been torn apart by a very special team. Are we watching this season's competition winners in action? Manchester City and others may have something to say about that, but as Brendan Rodgers said yesterday, this lot are among the best of the best. It will be interesting to see the psychological effect this has on Celtic going into the League Cup final. You wouldn’t back against them bouncing straight back, but Motherwell will hope they are mentally and physically drained.

Ex-England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Manchester United will be very disappointed, they had all the chances in the first half. Basel were positive, they had a go at Manchester United, they kept going and deserved their goal. United still only need a point at home in their final group game. It will be interesting to see what Mourinho has to say about this.

You can't say it hasn't been coming. Basel have been the attacking force in the second half. All the United players put their arms up for offside - he's not. It's poor defending. Daley Blind gets caught ball watching and it's a simple tap in at the far post.

    Massive goal for Basel!

It's a goal that's been coming and a goal the hosts absolutely deserve. Raoul Petretta plays a brilliant pass behind the defence and Michael Lang is there at the far post to tap home.

Matteo Darmian gets a booking for a foul just outside the Manchester United box. The free-kick comes to nothing but Darmian dives in late on a Basel player again soon after. Risky game he's playing.
