  1. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 1-3 Burnleypublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Alvaro Morata (70 mins)

A debut goal for Alvaro Morata. Is the comeback on?

The striker, signed in the summer from Real Madrid, pulls one back with a neat header, diving in to nod Willian's cross into the far corner.

Twenty minutes to find another two... maybe three.

  2. CLOSE!published at 16:26 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Everton 1-0 Stoke

Nice from Everton. One-touch, flicked passing across the pitch before a high cross is boomed into the box. Stoke clear and look for Saido Berahino, isolated up top, on a counter that the Toffees easily snuff out.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin drives at Kurt Zouma, fashions a stinging shot, and Jack Butland turns behind. The home side are looking good here...

    Everton 1-0 Stoke

Everton's Wayne Rooney has touched the ball more times in his own penalty area than Stoke's yet the former Manchester United forward's goal still separates the sides at Goodison Park.

    West Brom 1-0 Bournemouth

    Dion Dublin
Former Leicester & Man Utd forward on Final Score

The work Jermain Defoe does behind the scenes, looking after his body and training long hours, is why he continues to score goals.

He's soon to turn 35, but it means nothing because there remains a sharpness to his game. And he'll be such a good influence on the other strikers at the club - where he leads they will follow. If you're playing with better you become better yourself.

    West Brom 1-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth free-kick. Ryan Fraser with it. Steve Cook lurking in the box.

But it's too easy for Ben Foster to claim - and his throw sets the Baggies immediately on the counter. Salomon Rondon's cross is poor though, and the Cherries build again.

Just under half an hour to find the leveller.,,

  6. CLOSE!published at 16:22 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Crystal Palace 0-2 Huddersfield

Steve Mounie is through on goal, it should be three for Huddersfield... but on-loan Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah gets back superbly to hook the ball from the striker's feet. Crucial challenge.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:21 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Chelsea 0-3 Burnley

Best chance so far for Chelsea as Tom Heaton superbly tips over a Marcos Alonso free-kick that was on course to creep just under the bar. That's only Chelsea's second shot on target all game. Disappointing.

  8. Postpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    West Brom 1-0 Bournemouth

And here he comes. Jermain Defoe is on for Bournemouth, Benik Afobe making way.

    Will he make the impact?

  9. Postpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Southampton 0-0 Swansea

Southampton still on top but they are being wasteful. Plenty of good movement in good positions, but just the one shot on target the whole game.

  10. Postpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Everton 1-0 Stoke

Tom Davies, one of the brightest young talents to emerge last season, comes on for Everton in place of Davy Klaassen.

Immediately he wins the ball on the far side, finds Wayne Rooney, whose spray pass is cut out, but the Toffees do find Dominic Calvert-Lewin's head in the box... Wide under pressure. Good rise though.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Chelsea 0-3 Burnley

Not a great game to come into for your Premier League debut as Alvaro Morata is introduced with an hour on the clock.

Michy Batshuayi is the player to make way. Morata has 30 minutes to somehow help spark a revival from three-goals down.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:16 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Crystal Palace 0-2 Huddersfield

Big save by Huddersfield debutant Jonas Lossl as he somehow gets a hand to Christian Benteke's booming header.

The hosts are upping the pressure now and Terriers boss David Wagner reacts by bringing on defensive midfielder Danny Williams for right-back Tommy Smith.

  13. Magical day for Burnleypublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Chelsea 0-3 Burnley

    Steve Wilson
Match of the Day commentator at Stamford Bridge

At the moment, Burnley are matching their biggest winning margin in a Premier League away game. They won 4-1 at Hull in April 2010. They are winning 3-0 here.

  14. CLOSE!published at 16:15 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Everton 1-0 Stoke

After the scrappiest piece of play you are likely to see today - six challenges going each way, no-one able to keep hold of it - Darrren Fletcher drills a loose ball just wide of the post.

    They're getting closer, the Potters...

  15. CHANCE!published at 16:14 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    West Brom 1-0 Bournemouth

Claudio Yacob in acres of space at a corner, enough to dart in at the near post and angle a downward header that just creeps wide of Asmir Begovic's Bournemouth goal.

It's against the flow - Bournemouth have been looking brighter. And they've got Jermain Defoe warming up.

  16. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Chelsea 0-3 Burnley

Marcos Alonso has his hand raised in the air as he demands a penalty for handball. It's after the full-back's cross is charged down by a Burnley defender, but nothing is given.

  17. CHANCE!published at 16:12 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Everton 1-0 Stoke

Quality sliding block from Kurt Zouma to come across and deny Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who was played through on goal by a delightful Wayne Rooney through ball.

We've had signs of life from Stoke up front but they left themselves exposed there.

Would Chelsea have Zouma back at the Bridge today?

  18. CLOSE!published at 16:10 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Crystal Palace 0-2 Huddersfield

Big chance for Crystal Palace as Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Andros Townsend combine to hand Christian Benteke an opportunity in front of an open goal, but the striker just can't quite reach the ball.
