  1. Mark Hughes' best bitspublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

Mark Hughes is an early contender for most facially animated manager of the year judging by these images from Goodison today. Has a way to go before he can usurp a certain German manager though.

    Everton 1-0 Stoke

    Conor McNamara
    BBC Radio 5 live commentator

Rooney is enjoying this now. A man back in his natural habitat.

The goal he scored just before half-time is set to enter Everton folklore and Rooney is playing a little deeper now… trying to thread passes through to Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top.

This may be The Rooney Show and many of the headlines will be already written, but Everton need to concentrate until the three points are secure because Stoke have been more threatening in this second half with Peter Crouch and new signing Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting proving as much of a handful as he is a mouthful.

  3. CHANCE!published at 16:40 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Southampton 0-0 Swansea

Another lovely move to find space for a shot, another wasteful Southampton finish.

Dusan Tadic curls over the bar from the edge of the box. Has to hit the target at least.

Just over five minutes to play...

  4. RED CARD - Cesc Fabregaspublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Chelsea 1-3 Burnley

Another man sent off for Chelsea, this time Cesc Fabregas being shown the red card. The midfielder dives in late on Jack Cork and is shown a second yellow.

Very poor discipline from Chelsea, who had Pedro sent off in the Community Shield last weekend.

    West Brom 1-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth throwing more and more bodies forward. Jordon Ibe, Jermain Defoe, Joshua King. They're all ready to pounce on anything that falls in the West Brom box. So far the home side are equal to it.

Ryan Fraser swings in a free-kick, Nathan Ake nods straight at Ben Foster.

That's the Cherries' first attempt on target.

    Chelsea 1-3 Burnley

Nervous times for Burnley fans as Chelsea continue to press. This time N'Golo Kante curls a shot from the edge of the area just over.

Ten minutes for the Clarets to stand firm and hold onto an impressive win.

    Chelsea 1-3 Burnley

Substitute Alvaro Morata's headed goal was his fifth touch since coming on - and his first inside the Burnley penalty area.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:36 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Southampton 0-0 Swansea

Finally a sign of life! Dusan Tadic with a fantastic curled drive that Lukasz Fabianksi does brilliantly well to track and palm acrobatically over.

From the corner, Maya Yoshida nods over the bar.

There is time for a winner - just under 10 minutes. But will we see one?

    Incredible!

Huddersfield's dream Premier League debut appears to be complete as Steve Mounie gets his second and his side's third, sweeping in from Collin Quaner's cross.

As things stand, Huddersfield are going top of the Premier League.

    Crystal Palace 0-2 Huddersfield

Got to put these away! A Crystal Palace corner runs right through to Scott Dann, unmarked in the middle of the box, but the defender scoops his shot well over. Poor.

Brighton v Man City (17:30 BST)

Brighton boss Chris Hughton isn't exactly keeping faith with the side who got them promoted.

Five new faces make their debuts including former club record signing Mat Ryan in goal. Midfielder Davy Propper, who went on to break that record, starts - as do Pascal Gross, Markus Suttner and Chelsea loanee Isaiah Brown.

Manchester City start Ederson in goal, with full-backs Kyle Walker and Danilo also making their debuts.

Forwards Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus both start, with Bernardo Silva – another summer recruit – on the bench. Benjamin Mendy is injured.

  12. CHANCE!published at 16:34 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    West Brom 1-0 Bournemouth

Panic in the Bournemouth box as a West Brom corner swings in low. Somehow the away side hack the ball away, I think it's Jordon Ibe who swipes clear with a host of striped shirts snarling around him.

  13. CHANCE!published at 16:33 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Everton 1-0 Stoke

Just over 15 minutes left for Stoke to find a way back in.

Mame Biram Diouf almost scores the goal of the century as he chests the ball down, flicks the ball up for himself, then bicycle kicks on goal...

Only problem is that he only catches the ball with the very end of his boot, so the ball flies up in the air. I did say almost.

Peter Crouch looks to profit, but the Stoke man is flagged for offside.

  14. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Chelsea 1-3 Burnley

Chelsea have the ball in the net again as Andreas Christensen's shot is poked in by Alvaro Morata at the far post. The Chelsea players start to celebrate... before the linesman's flag cuts them short. Morata was indeed just offside when he stole in.

The good news for Chelsea, though, is that they are looking much more of a threat now.

  15. 'Morata looks 100% a centre forward'published at 16:30 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Chelsea 1-3 Burnley

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger at Stamford Bridge for 5 live Sport

Morata has looked absolutely superb since he's come on, especially his movement. He looks 100% a centre forward and looks like the sort of plyer who can deliver something special.

Questions, though, need to be asked of the manager - why wasn't he brought on at half-time?

  16. Morata the debut kingpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Chelsea 1-3 Burnley

    Steve Wilson
Match of the Day commentator at Stamford Bridge

Scored on his debut in La Liga, scored on his debut in Serie A, scores on his debut in the Premier League. Alvaro Morata introduces some uncertainty into Burnley minds. Chelsea have one. Can they get two more in 22 minutes?

Brighton v Man City (17:30 BST)

Manchester City hand debuts to goalkeeper Ederson and defenders Kyle Walker and Danilo.

Five summer signings start for Brighton, including Mat Ryan in goal.

    Full team news to follow.

  18. Postpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Southampton 0-0 Swansea

Just the one goalless game still.

Any sign of a breakthrough for either side? Southampton are still being wasteful in possession, and Swansea? Not much doing.

It's a long way from being a classic.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Crystal Palace 0-2 Huddersfield

Another change for Huddersfield as lanky forward Collin Quaner replaces Kasey Palmer. Quaner offers a bit of more height as they look to protect their two-goal advantage.

  20. Postpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    West Brom 1-0 Bournemouth

Jordon Ibe hassling the West Brom back four like a wasp around a jam sandwich as Bournemouth look for a way back into this.

Time is running out. About 20 minutes to go as Hal Robson-Kanu replaces Matt Phillips for the home side.
