More glimpses of the sheer brilliance of Philippe Coutinho. His shooting is not quite as accurate as the rest of his game at the moment.

He has glided past defenders so far.

  7. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Burnley

    Closer from Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian swerves around Steven Defour, who is finding getting to grips with the dangerman as easy as pinning mercury to a board, and cracks a clean shot a yard over from 20 yards out.

Liverpool have started the second half at a canter.

  8. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Burnley

Philippe Coutinho is getting his swagger back.

The Brazilian weaves between Steven Defour and Jack Cork, dropping shoulders and darting clear. He lines up something special from 25 yards but the ball flies well over the top.

  9. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Burnley

Daniel Sturridge glides forwards as if on castors, leaving Steven Defour treading water, before clipping an ambitious chip towards goal.

Nick Pope was off his line by a couple of yards, but there was too much on it.

Full marks for the vision, room for improvement on the execution.

    Touch map

Might be worth a little zoom in on your phone this one.

Liverpool's touch map - on the left - shows the Reds enjoying plenty of possession in and around the penalty area.

Burnley's - on the right - shows the Clarets getting just three in the dangerzone.

That was all they needed for parity.

  16. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Burnley

Emre Can puts his hands on his head as Roger East blows up for a foul on Johann Berg Gudmundsson.

This is a decent set-piece spot for Burnley.

Nice delivery, Ben Mee wins the header...but he can only steer it wide from 10 yards out and under pressure from Roberto Firmino.

Liverpool far from convincing in the air again.

The way Liverpool are playing, you'd be very surprised if they don't add another. All that is missing is a bit of finishing.

At the moment, their football is scintillating. I don't think Burnley will be able to match the pace from Liverpool.

    Liverpool 1-1 Burnley

Half of Anfield are up and celebrating. But Daniel Sturridge's fierce shot has ruffled the wrong side of the side-netting from the home fans' point of view.

It was a beautifully-weighted throughball from Philippe Coutinho to set the striker through.

  19. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Burnley

A familiar story for Liverpool on the stats board so far today.

They have had nine shots to Burnley's one, but their flaky defence means they are heading for the break without a lead.

  20. CLOSE!published at 35 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Burnley

Liverpool are a whisker away from taking the lead as James Milner's sweeping cross from the right slips just by a stretching Daniel Sturridge.

And the Reds go close again as Sturridge stands up a cross to the back post and Mohamed Salah's nod-back almost drops for Philippe Coutinho.

    Almost, but not quite.
