The Brazilian weaves between Steven Defour and Jack Cork, dropping shoulders and darting clear. He lines up something special from 25 yards but the ball flies well over the top.

Daniel Sturridge glides forwards as if on castors, leaving Steven Defour treading water, before clipping an ambitious chip towards goal.

Nick Pope was off his line by a couple of yards, but there was too much on it.

Full marks for the vision, room for improvement on the execution.

The way Liverpool are playing, you'd be very surprised if they don't add another. All that is missing is a bit of finishing.

At the moment, their football is scintillating. I don't think Burnley will be able to match the pace from Liverpool.

Half of Anfield are up and celebrating. But Daniel Sturridge's fierce shot has ruffled the wrong side of the side-netting from the home fans' point of view.

It was a beautifully-weighted throughball from Philippe Coutinho to set the striker through.

A familiar story for Liverpool on the stats board so far today.

They have had nine shots to Burnley's one, but their flaky defence means they are heading for the break without a lead.

Liverpool are a whisker away from taking the lead as James Milner's sweeping cross from the right slips just by a stretching Daniel Sturridge.

And the Reds go close again as Sturridge stands up a cross to the back post and Mohamed Salah's nod-back almost drops for Philippe Coutinho.
