    West Ham 1-3 Tottenham

Serge Aurier first Spurs player to be red carded in the Premier League since Vlad Chiriches against Stoke in May 2015.

Because of their work beforehand, it doesn't look like it is going to be too costly.

  2. Postpublished at 80 mins

    West Ham 1-3 Tottenham

It wasn't handball. Hernandez's initial flick came off Sanchez's midriff. Hernandez should have scored with his following shot, though.

Sarah Morgan: Can only think Serge Aurier desperate to watch Celebrity Masterchef final on iPlayer; practically begged ref for red card!

Femi John Atoyebi: Hot head. You always know Serg eAurier will be a hot contender for most red cards of the season.

Jack: Harry Kane... love him or hate him, since August has finished, he's been fantastic for my dream team. Seal the hat trick in the 2nd half and I'll marry him, let alone love him.

Tottenham fully dug in now. West Ham seeing lots of the ball but they aren't causing enough problems. Andy Carroll has a punt from outside the box but drags his shot past the post.

It makes sense to me as it looks like Spurs have almost dropped to a back five. Mauricio Pochettino is clearly going to sacrifice a creativity edge.

Harry Winks is a bit more stable and will keep things ticking with his youthful energy.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 74 mins

    West Ham 1-3 Tottenham

    A change for each side.

Harry Winks on for Spurs, replacing Christian Eriksen. Toughen up midfield.

West Ham chuck on Arthur Masuaku for Jose Fonte. On the attack.

It's almost like Serge Aurier has asked for it. He has looked over tenacious throughout the whole game.

He doesn't have to win the ball there. It's not life or death. It's a silly mistake to make.

  11. RED CARDpublished at 69 mins

    West Ham 1-3 Tottenham

Serge Aurier is not going to see out this game.

Two bookings in five minutes have done for the wing-back. His second is an unnecessary tackle from behind on Andy Carroll.

West Ham's hopes increase. They are a man up, with 20 minutes to find two goals.

  12. Postpublished at 68 mins

    West Ham 1-3 Tottenham

Javier Hernandez's goal is his first in nine games against Tottenham. All 40 of Hernandez's Premier League goals have been from inside the box. A true poacher.

  13. 'Spurs very static'published at 13:55 British Summer Time 23 September 2017

Can this be a comeback from West Ham? Spurs are guilty of being very static in the area.

Hernandez does what he does best and gets into the right area in the six yard box and finds space.

    Hold on!

West Ham give themselves hope as Javier Hernandez poaches a header at the back post, following Jose Fonte's flick-on from a corner.

Still loads to do, but there is a tiny chink of light at the end of the tunnel.

'Sacked in the morning' is the tune emanating from thew away fans at London Stadium.

Slaven Bilic looks deflated. David Sullivan is pointing animatedly from his seat in the Hammers directors box.

Worrying times for West Ham and their manager.

  17. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 64 mins

    West Ham 0-3 Tottenham

Post again from Kane! He drives into the box, buys a yard on Winston Reid and strikes a shot that gets a bit of Joe Hart's boot and a lot of the upright before going behind.

Kane couldn't have got much closer to a treble in the last few minutes.

  18. 'Very difficult for West Ham now'published at 13:49 British Summer Time 23 September 2017

    West ham 0-3 Tottenham

    Matthew Upson
Former West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Very disappointing goal for West Ham to concede - the manner of it. It was a nice free-kick from Harry Kane but they had an opportunity to get organised and deal with it.

The ball luckily ricochets out to Eriksen. He is a very good technician but the lack of awareness from West Ham not to come out and deal with the space is what has cost them the goal.

It's looking very difficult for them now.

    Christian Eriksen

    Game. Over.

Christian Eriksen gets on the scoresheet with a superb first-time finish from inside the box after Serge Aurier's cross is charged down.

Before that, Harry Kane had come within a lick of paint of a hat-trick with a shot from a free-kick that struck the base of the post.

No way back for the Hammers now.

    West Ham 0-2 Tottenham

West Ham need to seriously sharpen up. They allow Toby Alderweireld to run and run and run through the middle of the pitch and to near the edge of their own box. Fortunately for the home side, Harry Kane has wandered offside ahead of the chipped pass from the defender.
