West Ham always put in a performance against Spurs. We’d always be up for that game as we know how much it means to the fans.

The fans will play a big part in this game. Once their fans are happy, it takes a lot of pressure off the players and manager.

Last year I went to the West Ham v Spurs game. West Ham were rubbish all season but then they beat them.

At the moment they’re one of the most boring teams to watch in the Premier League. But I have a feeling they’re going to turn it on against Spurs.

They dug out a result against Huddersfield. This is the game their fans have been waiting for.

At the back end of last season Tottenham could not stop winning. After 34 games they had reduced the gap on Chelsea to just four points. They had won nine Premier League games in a row.

On Friday 5 May 2017, Spurs arrived at the London Stadium with a chance to close the gap to just one point.

They lost 1-0 and a week later Chelsea beat West Brom at The Hawthorns to win the title.

Today, Tottenham cannot afford another defeat. Struggling in the Premier League at Wembley, they need three points to keep the pressure on the Manchester clubs.

Earlier this week, Mauricio Pochettino took the Spurs squad to a steak restaurant in central London to create a "good dynamic".

They will need that "dynamic" to beat a West Ham side, who have beaten Spurs at home for the past two seasons and have not conceded a goal in three games.

You can listen to the match on Radio 5 Live at 12:30 BST.

A combined Manchester City/United team anyone? Oh, go on then...

Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin and the Guardian's Manchester Football Correspondent Jamie Jackson will be discussing that very topic on 5 live at half-time in the game at the London Stadium.

Here is Pat's current combined XI: De Gea, Walker, Stones, Bailly, Mendy, Pogba, Mata, De Bruyne, D Silva, Lukaku, Aguero

They are talking about this very issue right now on 5 live.....

Leicester's win in Tuesday's dress rehearsal in the Carabao Cup was the latest chapter in Liverpool's version of Groundhog Day.

While Bill Murray repeated the same day in the 1993 film, game after game Jurgen Klopp is seeing his team miss a host of chances while his defence cracks under the slightest bit of pressure.

Prospects of a clean sheet look slim against a Leicester side looking for a fourth successive home win over their opponents - slimmer still if Jamie Vardy is fit.

He has scored five goals in his last three games against them and will relish the chance to terrorise a vulnerable back four.

Liverpool might need to score two or three to get something, so for his sake I hope the 'bespectacled one' has finally found his strikers' shooting boots.

Striker Jamie Vardy is expected to be fit for Leicester despite missing the Carabao Cup win over Liverpool with a groin strain.

Matty James has been ruled out for up to six weeks with an Achilles strain but Christian Fuchs is available.

Dejan Lovren is a major doubt for Liverpool, having not trained because of the back problem that has caused him to miss the last two games.

Joel Matip and Emre Can both sustained knocks last week and will be assessed.

Paul Clement was rightly pleased with his players for keeping Spurs at bay last weekend, but he's understandably less satisfied with them offensively, after Swansea failed to manage a shot on target for the third time in five league games this season.

He has a welcome selection dilemma up front for this one, with Wilfried Bony pushing for a start following his efforts in midweek.

Marco Silva is hopeful something positive will come out of Watford's mauling against Manchester City, calling it "a good match for them to learn from", and that game aside they've made an impressive start, especially away from home.

Silva also has a striker itching to make the team and has told captain Troy Deeney he needs to "work hard" in order to regain his place.

Swansea forward Wilfried Bony could be handed his first Premier League start since rejoining the club.

Ki Sung-yeung is in training after knee surgery but will not be considered, while Nathan Dyer and Kyle Bartley remain out.

Watford full-back Kiko Femenia is back after concussion, but central defender Miguel Britos is still suspended.

Fellow defenders Sebastian Prodl and Younes Kaboul miss out with respective thigh and hamstring injuries.

    Stoke v Chelsea (15:00 BST)

    John Motson
    Match of the Day commentator

Mark Hughes has bemoaned his side's tough start, but five points from five matches is a decent return for a team that is traditionally slow out of the blocks.

However, three wins from their last 16 Premier League games doesn't reflect well and they'll be looking for a reaction here after a midweek defeat to Bristol City in the League Cup.

Chelsea had no such trouble in that competition as Michy Batshuayi's hat-trick saw them cruise past Nottingham Forest. The Belgian could feature here, especially when you consider Chelsea's next two fixtures - Atletico Madrid and Manchester City.

Antonio Conte will select a team with those games in mind and I feel he could be well served utilising Chelsea's talented pool of youngsters this season.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has thanked forward Diego Costa for his time at the club.

Earlier this week, Chelsea agreed terms with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Costa back to the Spanish club.

The move, which will be completed in January, is subject to the agreement of personal terms and a medical.

The Spain international, who has stayed away from the club this season, has scored 58 goals in 120 Chelsea appearances.

"I'm not interested in talking about the past," Conte added.

Kevin Wimmer is nursing a hamstring strain and could be one of four senior defenders unavailable for Stoke.

On-loan centre-back Kurt Zouma is ineligible to play against his parent club, while Geoff Cameron and Ryan Shawcross are both injured.

Chelsea's Eden Hazard could make his first league start of the season.

David Luiz is banned but Temoue Bakayoko should be available despite a minor car accident in the week, and Pedro is fit after a leg injury.

Manchester United and City both went about their business in the summer quickly. They set out immediately what they wanted.

Jose Mourinho gave Ed Woodward his requirements and I guess he went out and got most of them. It’s no surprise they’ve hit the ground running.

Manchester United bought within the Premier League – Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic. They were always going to work.

But people are writing Chelsea off too soon.

BBC Match of the Day commentator

Every time I climb up to the St Mary's gantry a Saints fan asks me: 'Will we be OK this season?'. I've always reassured him. In all honesty I can't do so right now.

Any side that has scored just one home goal from free play in 725 minutes, with eight home scoring blanks in nine matches, is bound to find trouble. They have to get Charlie Austin fully fit and firing.

Manchester United look far too strong for them. They average three goals a game. Romelu Lukaku alone has more than the whole Southampton side. Jose Mourinho looks like the cat that got the cream.

It's 14 years since a Saints home win in this fixture. I can't see that hoodoo being broken.

Virgil van Dijk could make his first start for Southampton since January, having returned to competitive action as a substitute last weekend.

He will be assessed after playing for the Under-23 side on Monday but Matt Targett is a doubt with an ankle injury.

Manchester United have no fresh injury worries with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial pushing their claims for a starting role by scoring in the League Cup win over Burton.

Marcos Rojo and Paul Pogba remain out.

Manchester City v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

The best Roy Hodgson can hope for is not to get battered. You can take positives in defeat in certain games. It’s how you keep moving forward, inch by inch in terms of improving performance.

Everyone is looking at that game and thinking it'll be 4-0 or 5-0. If they come out of that and it’s 2-0, Palace can think that’s not the worst result and we must have put in a decent defensive display to build on.

The mental element is important, if a goal goes in early or you make a mistake – do not drop your head. You think 'we’re 1-0 down but we don’t cave in. Let’s not collapse in front of the country'.

It’s hard to prepare for on the training ground. It’ll be like a whirlwind from City.

  20. 'Man City will wear teams out'published at 12:07 British Summer Time 23 September 2017

Manchester City v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

    Steve Sidwell
Injured Brighton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

On the opening day against Manchester City, we set out two banks of four, with no spaces. We wanted them to go wide and deal with crosses. But then you have to catch Walker and Mendy and stop them at source.

The attacking options they’ve got is frightening. We dealt with them comfortably for 70 minutes and then ran out of steam. That’s what they’ll do this season, they'll wear teams out.

The last thing you want to see as a player that’s dug deep is to see another set of fantastic players coming off the bench. That deflates you.
