Swansea City

Swansea goalscorer Tammy Abraham: "We knew it wasn't good enough in the first half. We made changes and had to come alive. We got back into the game and we conceded in the last minute which is a big downer for us.

"We thought we could grab the win and unfortunatly we lost the ball on the counter attack.

"We know we are a better side than we are showing. We've got to go and fight for the win at West Ham."

Swansea City

Swansea manager Paul Clement speaking to Match of the Day: "We were trying to push to win and not lose. In the first half we played poorly. We changed in the second half, got back in it, pushed to win but we gifted them two goals.

"We weren't good enough over the 90. You can't just play well for 40 minutes.

"I think they played well and our shape wasn't working for us, individuals weren't working well enough. We changed our shape in the second half and the players responded to it.

"I feel disappointed for the fans. They've come to three home games and they've seen three loses. They've seen their team lose again.

"We've got to and get a result away from home now."

Swansea, meanwhile, have lost all three of their home games this season and, at one point, were getting booed by their own fans.

Watford

Watford manager Marco Silva: "I'm really happy with the result. A third away victory in a row and I'm sure that's a first for the club. It's important to stamp that on the club.

"We did well in the first 30-40 minutes. We had the chance to kill the game and Swansea reacted. They changed some things at half-time and were really strong in the first 25 mins of the second half.

"We then made some changes and we scored on goal. It's important the players don't lose focus and keep believing. When you believe, anything can happen.

"Our players work really hard and we're starting to build something in the changing room. Everyone is together and it's important to continue this way."

I mentioned earlier on the job that Marco Silva is doing at Watford. They were fifth after beating Swansea, but look set to drop a place because Liverpool are 2-0 up at Leicester. Still...

Stoke City

Stoke manager Mark Hughes: "We made too many mistakes against a team who can exploit that. We were tested a little bit when it comes to personnel. Today we were missing five centre-backs.

"They will be delighted with a 4-0 scoreline. It has flattered them somewhat. Circumstances meant that we weren’t getting anything out of it. Defensive errors took it away from us."

You can see that Alvaro Morata has adapted to the Premier League. Chelsea tried to get Romelu Lukaku but Morata isn't a bad second choice.

His stand out thing is his movement. It is sensational. He is so sharp and he plays off the shoulder of the defenders.

He will have players who will be able to create goals for him.

Chelsea

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, speaking to MOTD: "It was a good day, a good result for us. Stoke are a really good team and very strong.

"It was very difficult to win here.

"We deserved to win the game. We started well and scored early. We were in control of the game. I repeat it's not simple to win away against them.

"Morata played a good game. A really good performnace. Now he has to continue this way to be a great striker.

"I think we have to be focused at what we do and not others. We want to fight in every competition we are playing."

The Manchester clubs might be setting the pace, but champions Chelsea are also starting to purr. Alvaro Morata helped himself to a hat-trick in a demolition of a hugely inconsistent Stoke side that defended like under-12s.

Manchester City

Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling: "When we get into positions we are making more of the right decisions. At this level you need to be taking those chances.

"I spoke to Roy Hodgson afterwards and wished him well. He's a top person and manager and helped me with the national team. I give him all my best for the future."

Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: "The first half we had problems as the ball must be moved and we didn’t move it.

"We had it but the ball needed to stay as little as possible in our feet before being moved. Too many touches and everything was slow. But the last 10-15 minutes of the half we got it. The second-half was much, much better. Sane's goal was so important. His first touch for the goal was brilliant. He runs in behind amazingly. Always the right tempo and moment."

"We have less points than last season now but I think we have more goals, conceded less and the feeling I think is a little bit better. But it's just September."

Last week, City had to share top spot with neighbours United. Now, they're out on their on on goal difference.

Crystal Palace

More from Roy Hodgson: "I am learning about the team all the time and they are learning. There were elements missing from our game today that we have to instill. Today was a harsh lesson.

"Our focus has to be in May. By the latter part of the season the players must know what we are looking for. They should themselves feel stronger by then. In the short-term these kind of defeats are staring us in the face as we are playing quality teams."

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson: "I thought at half-time to come at 1-0 down is a bit unfortunate. I thought we'd played some good football.

"Two quick goals then and when they get a few up, with their quality, passing and movement it becomes very difficult.

"We know there is a lot of work to do with this group and they know that too.

"The goal before half-time was very damaging. We didn't defend anywhere near as well as we should have done for that goal. We looked reasonably dangerous on the counter-attack but when they go 1-0 up we have to score. In the end we have been heavily beaten."

In the most predictable result of the day, Crystal Palace got an absolute toweling at Manchester City.

The bottom side, winless and goalless in the Premier League, shipped five to the free-scoring league leaders.

Bournemouth goalscorer Joshua King: "Good to get the goal but when I score I want to the team to win. I don't leave here with a good feeling because we did not leave here with the three points I felt we deserved.
