    Everton 0-0 Bournemouth

A forgettable first half of football which was all about Wayne Rooney. The forward went through three different Everton shirts as a cut next to his eye after he was caught by Simon Francis' elbow kept on re-opening.

At least he can get it properly looked at during the break.

Manchester City are so creative and they have so many good players in the team who are equally capable of scoring.

What do Crystal Palace do now? Do they go out and attack and try and get back into the game? That might not work either.

Beautiful! Silva was pivotal in that move but Sane's control was incredible. A beautiful finish for a beautiful goal.

    Leroy Sane (45 mins)

It's taken a while, but Manchester City are ahead!

A great goal as well as Leroy Sane takes a free-kick short to David Silva. The midfielder clips the ball over the defence for Sane, who continued his run, and the City forward stabs in at the near post.

Former Manchester City winger Trevor Sinclair on BBC World Service's Sportsworld: “It’s got to be goal of the month. It’s absolutely an unbelievable strike. When you realise the speed and intensity that the goal was scored at…wow”

    Burnley 0-0 Huddersfield

Few boos from the home fans at what they perceive has been a bit of Huddersfield time wasting. Almost half-time in a game that, so far, will not live long in the memory.

    Stoke City 0-2 Chelsea

There's a decent chance of a Stoke goal today. They have pressed Chelsea, who haven't always been the most certain at the back. This would have been incredible from Mama Biram Diouf - an overhead kick that flies beyond the bar.

  13. Frustration for Man City as Palace hold firmpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 23 September 2017

    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

So far, so good for Crystal Palace, who look well-drilled and determined - less so for Manchester City, who are playing too many loose passes when they do find space in the Eagles half. Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling have both been guilty of that in the last few minutes.

The home fans are trying to rouse their side and are loudly urging them forward, but all too often those shouts are ending in howls of frustration as the ball finds a black Palace shirt, not a blue City one.

    Everton 0-0 Bournemouth

Wayne Rooney's eye has been cleaned up or, at least, I think it has been cleaned up because he somehow just managed to block his own shot. Odd one that.

    Swansea 0-1 Watford

Could have been two. Alfie Mawson's backpass is woefully underhit, weaker than over-milked tea. Andre Gray latches on, but rolls it wide from a narrow angle. It's hard to overstate how bad Swansea have been today.

  16. 'Organisation of United is impressive'published at 15:39 British Summer Time 23 September 2017

    Southampton 0-1 Manchester United

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger on 5 live Sport

The organisation and structure of this United team is really impressive. They are so well drilled.

The job Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini has done in front of the back four so far has been absolutely superb.

That is the reason why there has been no threat for David De Gea so far.

  17. CLOSE!published at 15:39 British Summer Time 23 September 2017

    Burnley 0-0 Huddersfield

Vital interception by Christopher Schindler as the Huddersfield defender hooks Stephen Ward's cross away from goal. If he missed that, Chris Wood was waiting at the far post to volley home.

Dave Webb: People said £75 million was too much for Romelu Lukaku... They seem to have gone a bit quiet.

Dominic Aitken: Ashley Young has his mojo back. It's an ammunitions factory on the left hand side.

Kiriama16: Everton swapped their main man Lukaku for a toothless Rooney.

    Southampton 0-1 Manchester United

What's happened here? Marouane Fellaini is rolling around on the floor and Shane Long looks guilty. Players have crowded around the ref. Ouch. Long has trodden on the back of Fellaini's left heel, tattooing the Achilles tendon. The Belgian looks like he'll be OK, but Long has gone in the book.

  20. CLOSE!published at 15:38 British Summer Time 23 September 2017

    Man City 0-0 Crystal Palace

Sergio Aguero has been quiet but finally goes close as the clock ticks past the 30-minute mark.

David Silva and Leroy Sane combine to set up Aguero inside the box but the striker scoops the ball onto the roof of the net.

Strange to see Manchester City so off key in attack given how comprehensively they dismantled Watford in their last Premier League game.
