    West Ham 0-1 Brighton

West Ham are dropping like flies.

First, Michail Antonio goes down and doesn't look in a good way before Javier Hernandez flies into Anthony Knockaert. Both players are flat out.

    West Ham 0-1 Brighton

West Ham's first corner is headed high over the bar by Winston Reid. It does little to change the mood inside London Stadium. All the noise is coming from Brighton's fans.

The camera zooms in on suspended striker Andy Carroll. The Hammers could do with him on the pitch rather than sat in the stands.

West Ham need to get on the ball and make things happen a bit quicker. Brighton have had the ability to quieten down the crowd. Marko Arnautovic has not seen the ball and needs to go looking for it.

How long before Hammers fans show their frustration? Groans as Manuel Lanzini carelessly gives the ball away. It's all Brighton so far.

    West Ham 0-1 Brighton

What a shrewd signing Pascal Gross has proved. That's his fourth assist since joining in the summer. He also has two goals to his name. A great piece of transfer business.

  7. 'Murray is Brighton's best header of the ball'published at 20:13 British Summer Time 20 October 2017

The delivery from Pascal Gross is spot on and Glenn Murray is on his own. No one has picked him up. Heading is the strongest part of his game and Joe Hart has absolutely no chance.

Murray is Brighton's best header of the ball. Why you would leave him free I have no idea.

It's 34 years since Brighton last won a top-flight away game but will that run end tonight?

The Seagulls have the lead as Glenn Murray gets his head on the end of Pascal Gross's free-kick floated into the Hammers penalty area.

Joe Hart doesn't get near it. Where was the marking?

You only usually get one of those chances and then the defenders know about it so Chris Hughton will be frustrated Jose Izquierdo didn't hit the target.

    West Ham 0-0 Brighton

Bright start by Brighton. Javier Hernandez falls asleep at an earl corner for the visitors and Jose Izquierdo skies a first time attempt high and wide from the edge of the area. The Colombian should have done better with that.

With Javier Hernandez up top, West Ham are looking to probe and pass the ball around. You can see the two banks of four very clearly for Brighton and it is up to West Ham to break them down.

Lots of noise from both sets of fans. Brighton have travelled in numbers. Javier Hernandez is busy up top for the Hammers but Brighton are holding their shape well.

  13. 'Brighton need to change approach'published at 20:01 British Summer Time 20 October 2017

    West Ham 0-0 Brighton

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

I think Brighton need to change their approach tonight, whether they will or not time will tell.

There was a game they played at Bournemouth who weren't playing as well and Brighton still sat off.

Chris Hughton likes to see how the games go for 50 or 60 minutes and then take his risks. I don't see him changing that tonight.

Five minutes to kick-off at London Stadium. The atmosphere is a little flat but that will surely all change with an early Hammers goal.

  19. 'Great to be here'published at 19:52 British Summer Time 20 October 2017

    BBC Radio 5 live

Brighton chief executive Paul Barber on BBC Radio 5 live: "This stadium is very special. It is great to be here. These are the stadiums and games we were looking forward to. We are delighted to be here and hopefully will look to put on a bit of a show tonight.

"Every game in the Premier League is tough. It is difficult to close out games. There are a few points we should have got and haven't got but we just have to look forward."

  20. Gross-ly underrated?published at 19:48 British Summer Time 20 October 2017

    Brighton & Hove Albion

    • Pascal Gross has been directly involved in 83% of Brighton's Premier League goals this season (two goals and three assists), which is the highest percentage in the top flight.
    • Gross, who joined from German side Ingolstadt in the summer, has created 211 chances for team-mates in league football since August 2015 - the same number as Kevin de Bruyne. Only five players have created more opportunities in this period in the top five European leagues.
