    Manchester City 3-0 Burnley

Manchester City are able to walk over the line in a game in which a few bursts of quality did the job.

Sergio Aguero will take the headlines after his penalty took him on to 177 club goals - equalling Eric Brook's record.

But City now have 11 straight wins, another stat which equals a club record.

They look very good. Burnley will have far easier days but there is plenty to like about them.

    Manchester City 3-0 Burnley

Leroy Sane is in, almost an identical position to where he scored Manchester City's third. He goes for the same finish - across the keeper - but this time the ball goes wide.

    Close.

    Manchester City 3-0 Burnley

The game is fizzling out now. Burnley made a fist of it for a while and they do look a really well drilled side. That key penalty and Manchester City's quality have provided too much of a task.

Gabriel Jesus gets on the ball in the Burnley half and briefly it's two versus two in the attack but Ben Mee slides in to thwart him.

Kevin De Bruyne has departed for Ilkay Gundogan and on the Manchester City bench the players look sodden as the rain falls.

As Burnley attack it's noticeable that huge numbers of home fans have left behind the goal.

  6. CLOSE!published at 85 mins

    Manchester City 3-0 Burnley

Manchester City should have added another. A superb attack sees a ball fizzed down the line - it barely stays in - and Kyle Walker chases it before crossing. Leroy Sane steps over the ball to dummy, David Silva should score but for once gets his first touch all wrong.

Gabriel Jesus races onto the scene to get the loose ball and he has an age in the area and players to pass to. Will he pass? Not a chance. He looks to apply a lofted finish but Nick Pope blocks.

A look at the stats for the game so far shows how the home side have dominated possession. Interestingly it's quite even in terms of territory.

Manchester City have had 13 shots to Burnley's three though.

And with the job done, Sergio Aguero goes off for Gabriel Jesus.

The Argentine will not get the club goalscoring record all to himself today. He will soon though, that you can count on.

    Leroy Sane

The goals arrive as frequently as the rain hits the deck at this stadium.

A sweeping move over the halfway line sees Kevin de Bruyne turn and play in Leroy Sane. He's racing in on goal and shoots low across the goalkeeper. A fine finish.

Manchester City will make it 11 consecutive matches unbeaten.

    Nicolas Otamendi

Neat stuff around the edge of the area almost led to David Silva turning home and from the resulting corner Manchester City score a far more simple goal.

Leroy Sane's delivery has plenty of whip and Nicolas Otamendi gets up above his man to head into the corner. The defender on the line could not get enough on it to keep it out.

    Turn out the lights.

Sean Dyche is not too happy on the touchline. He thinks the home side get a soft free-kick as his side apply some pressure to defenders. His arms are aloft.

Burnley drop into a 4-5-1 as Manchester City build patiently.

They work the ball to Kyle Walker who floats a delicate cross in... excellent header away by James Tarkowski. He's been terrific today.

Fabian Delph is having an impressive day at left-back, well, from an attacking viewpoint at least.

He has had more touches than any player on the pitch with 82. He's also played more passes in the opposition half than anyone and of the 66 passes he's played today (another game high), over 90% have found feet.

On the opposite flank Kevin de Bruyne makes progress and drills a low cross in which needs to be diverted for a corner at the near post.

City have taken control again now.

Manchester City look to go through the gears, none more so than Kyle Walker down the right and his low cross is sublime, no one wants to touch it as it fizzes across goal.

Here are the possession and territory stats for the last five minutes of the match. You can see Burnley are seeing a lot more ball now and getting it forward at least. You may remember they had less than 10% possession in the first 10 minutes today.

Leroy Sane gets into the area for the home side and digs out a cross which is easily caught.

It looks like Ashley Barnes is going in the book for an elbow on Nicolas Otamendi. No real malice in it but he did brush him.

  20. Still the key moment...published at 56 mins

    Manchester City 1-0 Burnley

Bernardo Silva did not cover himself in glory but the spot kick he won still divides these sides.

Burnley seem a tad more ambitious early on in the second half and as David Silva rampages through midfield you can see space is far more plentiful out there for the home side now. He shoots from 25 yards but pushes the effort well wide.
