That double figures scoreline is looking good so far so Spain.

They are now 3-0 up in Liechtenstein, as Real Madrid's Isco and Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata get on the scoresheet.

Much better from the Republic of Ireland so far than Saturday's struggle in Georgia. Hoolahan is demanding the ball and the home side are busy in the tackle.

How on earth did Wales not take the lead?

Moldova did really well though, they threw bodies in front of the ball and were brave.

I just cannot believe the ball did not cross the line.

Test the goalkeeper tonight, because there is a lot of dew and the ball will skip up off the surface.

    How have Wales not scored?!

Gareth Bale's low drive from the edge of the box is spilled by the home keeper, who makes a superb recovery to block one follow-up from Aaron Ramsey before a defender does a sterling job on the line to prevent Hal Robson-Kanu's shot finding the net.

No wonder the West Brom striker has his head in his hands. He should have slammed that home. 20 minutes gone still 0-0.

Looks like Wales will have to be patient against this Moldovan side - they're proving to be quite stubborn so far.

Chris Coleman said they would be a 'tough nut to crack' yesterday and so far that's proving to be the case. There are bare chested Moldovans draped in their national flags bouncing to the beat of a drum.

The Republic are having a better little spell now following Serbia's dominance in the opening 10 minutes. They need to be very wary of the visiting side, though. It is packed with a fair few talented units.

Stadionul Zimbru only holds 10,000 people but there's a fair old noise in here.

It's been a somewhat scrappy start to the game but the little pocket of Moldovan 'ultras' in the corner behind their goal - resplendent with big drum - were given reason to cheer by Artur Ionita's run and shot which fizzed over the bar.

Wales have not really got anyone running in behind the Moldovan back four, everything is in front of them at the moment. We need to use our pace stretch their defence.

Moldova have another go at goal, this time from Artur Ionita, but it heads the same way as the earlier effort - into the arms of someone trying to enjoy a pie.

The roar in Dublin is silenced as Shane Duffy's header from a corner that flew into the goal after Ireland had taken short is ruled out. It is a good call. He was offside as he ran in round the back.

    Moldova 0-0 Wales

Gareth Bale is on the floor and rolling and rolling and rolling. It is the follow-through that gets him and it earns Moldova's captain, Alexandru Epureanu a yellow card.

Soon after, Alexandru Dedov has a pop from range but sends the ball into the stand. 10 minutes gone here.

As Gareth Southgate pointed out following the criticism of England after their struggles in Malta, it is often the case that superior teams have to be patient and wait for the goals to come against sides they are expected to beat.

Early strikes are gold dust in these scenarios. James Chester almost gets one for Wales with a glancing header from a corner that has the keeper diving but goes wide.

    Republic of Ireland 0-0 Serbia

The Republic of Ireland have started with a diamond formation in midfield, Wes Hoolahan at the tip of it with Jon Walters and Shane Long up front.

It is Serbia, though, who have made a fair chunk of the running so far. Just six minutes gone after the slightly delayed kick-off.

They are better than the Moldovan team but they need to go out and show it.
