    Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte speaking to BBC Sport: "Yes, I must be honest and be disappointed, but today we put in a good performance in the first half, we were always solid with the ball and in the second created a lot of chances.

"I saw a good reaction from my players despite long travel and little rest for them, but they would not accept defeat. We created chances for a second goal, and its not simple to play at Anfield. We tried to fight and tried to win."

On Willian’s goal – cross or not? "I don’t know, I have not spoken to him. We were unlucky with their goal, but a draw was a good result, and maybe we deserved to win at the end."

"We must be pleased because we have gone to the next round of the Champions League, and this was our third away game. We have to continue in this way, have good enthusiasm and keep rotating as it is very hard to play every three days."

  4. Need luckpublished at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2017

    Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: "I think I need a little bit of time to be happy. I'm happy about the performance, how we took the game. It's a little bit more difficult when Chelsea played with eight defenders more or less.

"After a week like this (long trips away in the Champions League) we have both had, it was one of the better draws I've seen in my life.

"You need a bit of luck and we didn't have it again. We wanted to change the system before the equaliser and the referee didn't allow us/

"We wanted to go to five at the back, to change the situation and it's not too cool to have conceded.

"Of course, if you're at home 1-0 up, you want the three points, that's my problem at the moment.

"It was a really good game and at the end, it's one point against Cheslea. There will be a moment tonight when I think the result is OK - but not now."

  5. Moreno impressespublished at 19:43 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2017

    Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea

    David Thompson
Former Liverpool midfielder on BBC Radio Merseyside

Chelsea tried to exploit Alberto Moreno today, but he showed brilliant maturity. Especially after a nightmare performance in Seville, it was a really good performance from a young lad in a big game.

I'm not sure Simon Mignolet can legislate for a shank off the outside of Willian's boot. Normally I'd be right on him for a mistake, but I'm not sure he can be blamed for a cross that's gone in.

Sajid M: Don’t understand why Klopp leaves it until the death to bring on subs...especially game changers. Opposition chasing the goal, surely take advantage and bring on players to exploit space.

lfcway: When it's not Moreno, it's Mignolet, when it's not Mignolet, it's Lovren. When it's not Lovren it's .... mistakes always waiting to happen when Liverpool defence is concerned!!!

Matt Jessop: Ridiculous the shade you seen thrown at Klopp. Liverpool are not world class, and have to build their budget and team up long term - but get a draw with the champions and it’s ‘throwing the game away’

  9. 'Equaliser was deserved'published at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2017

    Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea captain Gary Cahill on BT Sport: "I thought on reflection in the second-half we deserved to equal the game up.

"They had some good spells in the first-half we had some in the second. They did cause us some problems at times and I'm sure we did them."

On Willian's equalising goal: "You'll have to ask him if it was cross. We're delighted it went in, we deserved to get the goal."

Asked if the result was favourable for Manchester City: "I'd say so, if we were in their shoes we'd be delighted with that [results today]. But we have some good games coming up and clearly this is a difficult place to come. It was important we didn't lose today."

  10. 'Chelsea happier'published at 19:32 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2017

    Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea

    Liverpool

Jordan Henderson speaking to BT Sport: "We’re disappointed, I thought we would hang on for all three so they will probably be very, very happy with the point.

"It was a game between two good teams, tactically, we both had chances but I think Chelsea will be happier with the point."

On Mo Salah's form: "He just keeps going, which is good for us. It was a fantastic finish and I thought he got another late on."

Get Benitez!!! It's not working at Liverpool, throwing away the lead nearly every week you can't watch them.

  13. A fair score linepublished at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2017

    Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea

    David Thompson
Former Liverpool midfielder on BBC Radio Merseyside

It's a fair score line, both teams had equal opportunities. There weren't really really that many chances but both teams probed and built pressure. Liverpool were fortunate with their goal because of the way it broke to Philippe Coutinho, and Chelsea were fortunate because of the way Willian scored. But it was a very good game for a 1-1, it wasn't mundane at all, and there was plenty of quality on show.
