It's a very open game, a very exciting game, but we're still waiting for the first opportunity. It's been a good tempo from Liverpool so far.

Here he is, little Mohamed Salah on the ball for the first time.

He finds a pocket of space 25 yards out, having drifted in from the right, but fails to find the target with his shot.

Jordan Henderson's Liverpool's deepest player, and he looks a bit isolated. When Chelsea do attack he'll have to be very vigilant, because there's a lot of ground for him to cover on his own.

    Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

Liverpool are quickly in on the Chelsea players, not letting them settle on the ball.

The Blues are playing a 5-3-2 when they are not in possession, but full-back Davide Zappacosta and Marcos Alonso will be expected to push forward once they break forward.

He's looked sharp, Daniel Sturridge. He looks hungry, up for it, it's against his former club and if you cant get up for it against a former club you can't against anyone.

Andrew Ogley: If nothing else today, the pitch at Anfield actually looks quite good... that's all the positivity I can muster after our last defensive display.

Using Sturridge's talents, his ability to create something from nothing and his nack to be in the right place, the right game for him, would be hard for Firmino with players like Kante mopping up, giving Ox his chance and saving Mane as an impact sub, not to mention Lallana on the bench who can also change games. I think offensively its genius and great squad rotation after the game midweek, but we all know Klopp doesn't struggle at offence, there's only one end of the pitch I'd expect us to lose the game in.

    Match of the Day commentator

"A trip to Baku and back is hardly ideal preparation for a match against one of your big rivals, but hapless Qarabag proved ideal opposition for Chelsea in a Champions League stroll.

"Liverpool returned from Seville 24 hours earlier, but with the seeds of another crisis of confidence planted in the backs of their minds after defensive capitulation robbed them of victory.

"There'll be much attention paid to Mohamed Salah at Anfield. The Egyptian barely played 14 games for Chelsea, let alone scored 14 goals - the tally he has amassed from just three months back in England.

"Every club has a list of 'the ones who got away', but at this rate Salah will soon be joining Kevin De Bruyne at the top end of Chelsea's."

More than half of the BBC African Footballer of the Year nominees are here at Anfield, fitting then to see a retro Premier League face (what do you mean who is it? That’s Habib Beye!)

Only one of the nominees starts as Liverpool’s Mo Salah faces his former club, Sadio Mane and Victor Moses are on the bench. There’s almost certainly a rule somewhere which says I have to mention that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Naby Keita are also up for the award.

That £60m fee for Alvaro Morata looks to be a bargain.

The Spaniard has contributed eight goals and four assists in his first 11 games for Chelsea in the league.

Salah (arabic): To bow, pay homage, worship.

Discarded by Chelsea, Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has returned to the Premier League in spectacular fashion, scoring nine goals so far and has Liverpool facing in the right direction.

The travelling fans to Anfield will be praying he does not come back to haunt them today.

Will the Reds continue to gain rewards and leave the Blues missing Salah?
