Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports: "Did I enjoy it? Not really, not all the time. At the beginning we needed to be patient with Brighton's style. We needed to get used to it.

"We scored two fantastic goals. It was good to watch. We scored a third which is a good idea in a game like this. A few weeks ago we were lucky with refereeing decisions and we paid it back tonight. Brighton's goal made it a little bit more exciting but in the end we closed the game in a nice way.

On his squad changes: "We had no idea we were going to have to line up like this until yesterday's meeting and I'm pleased for the boys. They were able to adapt.

"Our line up surprised everybody. It's a good moment that we can do things like this. They adapted and did the job.

"We need to adapt with plenty of different systems. That's how it should be."

They are the first English top-flight team to fail to score in 10 away league games in a row since Man City in 1950.

Everton

Everton's main man today Dominic Calvert-Lewin says he is "thoroughly enjoying" leading the line at his tender age.

He admits to the home side being "frustrated" in the first half but feels they can take plenty into next week's Merseyside derby.

"We have a new manager and we are winning games so we have to take confidence into the next games and keep building on the performances and results," he says.

Stoke City

Stoke midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri: "That was a massive win for us today. After the last defeat against Liverpool it was good to have another game in three days. We showed we are a team with a big performance."

Stoke keeper Jack Butland: "To go down a goal early it was all about the character. We know we've got it but need to show it more. We really worked hard for that."
