    Newcastle 2-3 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester captain Wes Morgan, speaking to BT Sport: "We had lot of possession and a lot of shots on goal. We could have got more in the first half. It was a good game and to get the goal at the end was fortunate but overall we deserved it."

On the team's slow start to the game: "We expect better of ourselves. It took us 10 or 15 minutes to get into the game. It is something we will look at on the training field.

On the team's rise up to eighth in the table: "We had a tough start. No one gave us credit for the tough start. We didn't start well and since we have started to improve and look much better. Once you pick up a few wins it builds momentum."

  14. 'A magnificent game'published at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Newcastle 2-3 Leicester

    John Hartson
Former Arsenal striker at St James' Park for 5 live Sport

Everyone knew it was going to be a long, hard season for Newcastle. They've played really well today but they've been outdone by a team with a lot quality.

It was a magnificent game between two teams who showed a lot of endeavor, they were going end to end and it was a great advert for the Premier League. They've shown plenty of character so far this season Newcastle, but whether that's going to be enough to keep them in the Premier League I don't know.

Solid work from Leicester, though, after that early Joselu goal for the hosts. A couple of great goals from Mahrez and Gray, before Perez's unfortunate own goal sealed it.

The Foxes are up to eighth after their third consecutive victory.

    Claude Puel's revolution marches on.

    Newcastle 2-3 Leicester

No time for Newcastle to salvage anything as Leicester ruin their 125th anniversary celebrations.

That's the first time Rafael Benitez has lost three straight home games in the Premier League. No points from Bournemouth, Watford and Leicester is a very poor return and leaves the Magpies just two points above the relegation zone.
