  2. 'Disappointed'published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    FT: West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, speaking to BBC Sport: "When you lose a game you must be disappointed. It is normal. I think today I saw the same game against Manchester City - West Ham. Our start was bad but today we played a bit tired. To face one game every two games always with the same players is very difficult. And we have just started this period.

"You have to move the ball quickly. But I repeat, we saw today a bit of tiredness in my players, especially in the last pass, we did a lot of mistakes.

"We must be disappointed. I repeat, we create many chances but were not able to score. We have to go and to play game by game, to be focussed. Don't forget in this league it is very difficult. There are six top teams and four go to Champions League. We have to fight and do our best."

  3. 'The win, the spirit, the team'published at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    FT: West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

    West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes, speaking to Sky Sports: "The win, the spirit of the team, how they stuck together and more that importantly a lot of the basics were done well today, all that really pleased me.

"We wanted to try and cause them problems, we knew once they got a grip of the ball they would have more possession, so that means being well organised too and we were.

"Marko Arnautovic has been a good player. West Ham signed him to get goals and contribute towards goals, and he has started to do that, but overall the team performance is what I am interested in.

"We got a big boost from the performance at Manchester City, that was something we could talk about positively, and we do have the players to threaten in attack once we get the back end sorted out.

"I would like to play like Chelsea - some of their football was stunning. I hope my team in the future here at West Ham will play like that."

  4. 'We were well off it'published at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    FT: West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill, speaking to Sky Sports: "We were well off it, we allowed them to get the early goal, we have been tight at the back recently and that was a poor one to concede.

"We just didn't play our stuff. It's frustrating. We were just not at the races - for whatever reason that is. It's disappointing to come off and feel like that.

"I'm not one to make excuses. We do have loads of games - but if we played to our levels today we get something out of the game. But we didn't.

"West Ham of course deserve credit, but we didn't create as much as we can do.

"This was a huge game for us. We needed to win this game. We have to reflect and try and freshen up."

  5. 'A perfect three points'published at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    FT: West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on Final Score

There have been questions as to whether David Moyes could still deliver as a manager at this level. Well, today is a tremendous result.

It shows the players believe in the new manager, and it's a perfect three points at this time.

  6. Impressively solid Hammerspublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    FT: West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Everton winger on Final Score

A great win for David Moyes and West Ham.

I was impressed with how solid they looked - there have been signs that the work on the training ground under Moyes has started coming to fruition.

  7. 'It means a lot'published at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    FT: West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

    West Ham United

West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic, speaking to BBC Sport: "It means a lot to me. I think to give something back to the fans and to the club. I was not in an easy situation when I came because of all these things that happen like the red card and illness but the last month I did quite OK. I want to score as many as I can now.

"We are working hard but we need to keep up the level. Now is a busy month. [David Moyes] came in as new manger when we were not in a good situation. He tried to put that we work hard and help each other. We are working as a team and if we continue like that we will be hard to beat."

Doug Leyland: Relegation battlers beat the champions. That's why we love the Premier League.

Jay Barns: I don't remember the last time I saw David Moyes happy after a match.

    Sophie Gayter: The Moyessiah effect.

  9. 'Amazing, amazing'published at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    FT: West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

    West Ham United

West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic, speaking to Sky Sports: "We had to work hard, as a striker we had to do many other jobs as well - defence and offence.

"I can't describe my feelings, it was amazing. All the players what they did was amazing and we deserve the three points. I wanted to do it (score) on my first day at West Ham but I think I am back on track. I don't want this to be my last goal. I want to make the club happy.

"The last few weeks we have put in a lot of work but we were not always lucky. I think it is come back and the confidence is going to be high now. We beat one of the top teams. Now we have to look to go up the table."

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger at the London Stadium for 5 live Sport

The hosts played with eight, nine, 10 men behind the ball at times. And I wouldn't blame West Ham for taking a number of yellow cards, because in games like this you have to take a hit.

There were moments in this game when I simply wanted to stand up an applaud the way West Ham were defending.

Chelsea Warrior: Conte making all 3 substitutions before minute 60 tells a story by itself. He got his team selection wrong today. It's happened before.

Matt Morgan: Hazard had a poor game by his standard. If he plays below par, so do Chelsea.

  12. Moyes' gleepublished at 14:26 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the London Stadium

In his fifth game as West Ham manager, David Moyes has done something that eluded him in his single, torrid season at Manchester United.

Marko Arnautovic's solitary goal means he has beaten a top six club. He has not done that since he was at Everton in 2013.

He looks quite happy about it, punching the air in delight after shaking Antonio Conte's hand.

  13. Postpublished at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

    Pat Nevin

Chelsea might have had a lot more of the possession but West Ham had all the desire to win this game.

If you want to learn how to defend then watch the DVD of this game and witness the Hammers' organisation and desire.

Honestly, for large spells West Ham made Chelsea look like an ordinary side.
