  1. Postpublished at 39 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

It wasn't that convincing but Adrian just manages to get a fist on a Chelsea corner. The away side continuing to press West Ham back.

Gary Cahill gets involved but his attempt at a lofted cross isn't good enough and Antonio Conte turns his back.

Chelsea have received a lot of criticism for the lack of young players who have broken into their first team in recent seasons despite their domination of the FA Youth Cup.

The club feel this perception is about to change, with Andreas Christensen leading the way.

Borussia Monchengladbach wanted to buy the Dane following two excellent seasons on loan.

Chelsea refused - and now we are seeing why.

This is the 21-year-old's 18th appearance of the season. He has featured in the last six for Chelsea in the Premier League.

  3. Postpublished at 36 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

Aaron Cresswell throws his fists in angry protest after a sharp challenge from Alvaro Morata on Winston Reid in the box.

To be fair to the Chelsea striker, the ball was there to be won - but Reid definitely took some studs. He looks OK.

I was at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea went a goal behind early to Newcastle and Dwight Gayle.

Today it's happened again. Last week they came behind to win 3-1. Might be a bit tougher against this West Ham side which is starting to look a bit more organised under David Moyes.

Conte will need to get these slow starts sorted before they take on Everton at Goodison Park on the 23 December at 12:30.

  5. CHANCE!published at 34 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

More of a half chance this one for Alvaro Morata simply because there were so many men around him, but the Chelsea striker can't quite connect properly with an inviting cross. It zips off the top of his quiff. No danger.

  6. Postpublished at 33 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

Chelsea substitute striker Michy Batshuayi has a hot water bottle on the bench. I think that's going to be a divisive issue.

  7. Postpublished at 32 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

Again West Ham are lined up on the edge of their own box as Chelsea look for the string of passes that will set them through.

Eden Hazard is there linking the moves together. But the home side are throwing bodies at him every time.

There has been a lot of talk in recent days about the Ballon d'Or and whether or not Eden Hazard should have been in the running.

Well I have to say, so far today he's done the square root of nothing. He doesn't look like he fancies this right now, and he limps every time he loses the ball. At the moment Chelsea really need him.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 28 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

N'Golo Kante shapes one from the edge of the box - and Adrian gets down well to turn around the post with a strong palm.

Adrian saves another from the corner that follows to deny Davide Zappacosta - but the flag was up for offside anyway.

    He's looking solid, the Spaniard.

  10. Postpublished at 27 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

What a difference a goal makes. Marko Arnautovic tirelessly hounds Andreas Christensen in pursuit of a hoofed clearance made by Aaron Cresswell.

Christensen just about recovers to play it out safely.

It has been a slightly more even game in the last five minutes or so - Chelsea seem to have settled down.

But you really do have to praise Reid, Ogbonna and Cresswell at the back for West Ham, who are marshalling the Chelsea attackers incredibly well.

  12. Postpublished at 24 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

Better from Chelsea. They're growing into this you feel. Pablo Zabaleta just about heads clear another dangerous Cesar Azpilicueta cross.

Cesc Fabregas then cuts the defence wide open to find Tiemoue Bakayoko who can turn and shoot from inside the box.... an excellent Aaron Cresswell block denies him.

The Hammers are sitting back. They are very, very deep.

  13. CLOSE!published at 21 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

Two decent chances for Chelsea - but West Ham survive.

First Angelo Ogbonna does brilliantly to head clear a dipping cross under pressure from the looming and slick-haired Alvaro Morata.

The clearance rises up to Eden Hazard, who strikes an effort just wide of the post - and which somehow manages to evade all the bodies in the box, too. A touch could have taken it in past Adrian.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

Marcos Alonso goes in the book as Adrian is called into action for the first time.

Adrian dropped a cross - he'll say he bounced it down - which he claimed off Alvaro Morata's head, and Alonso went in to challenge him. Perhaps a bit harsh to get yellow for that. There was certainly nothing malicious.

    West Ham celebrateImage source, Reuters

Phil Knox: Which team is in the top three and which are in the relegation zone? Hard to tell!

Charlie Reid: As a Chelsea fan I find it frustrating that we leak goals at the start of most games. Can we just score and keep the clean sheet some point soon please?

You feel at some point that Chelsea must wake up. In recent games, including in midweek, they have been so sluggish. You cannot afford to be like that.

At this top level you can't be off the pace - you need to start each and every game on fire. Chelsea haven't for their last three games.

  17. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 14 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

The first bit of danger at the back for West Ham.

Linking up well with Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata jinks into the box and tumbles to the turf - apparently under pressure from Winston Reid.

The Spaniard wants a penalty - Reid had his hands on Morata and tugged his shirt. The ref says no and Cesc Fabregas is immediately trotting after him to demand why.

  18. Postpublished at 12 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

Also - Marko Arnautovic was booked for his celebration - he ran in to join West Ham fans in the stands. Overly exuberant, will be the words used in the referee's report no doubt.

  19. A £24m finishpublished at 12:41 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the London Stadium

West Ham have waited a while for that.

Slaven Bilic spent a club record £24m on Marko Arnautovic last summer and so far, his West Ham career has been one of frustration.

That was his first goal for the club - and his first in the Premier League since 15 April, when he was still at Stoke.

Evidently, David Moyes must get greater consistency from the Austrian.

So David Moyes is a managerial genius after all. The Hammers are piling on more pressure now as Michail Antonio is hauled down on the right wing.

Manuel Lanzini with a chance to deliver - high to the far stick, but Angelo Ogbonna is penalised. A clash of heads with Marcos Alonso - both were going for the ball. And both are OK.
