That is a lovely goal! People have talked in the past of the West Ham Way, and that looked awfully like it to me.

A lovely interchange of passes on the edge of the area and Arnautovic simply passed the ball into the far corner.

A great start by West Ham, who utterly deserve the lead. They are playing extremely well with a lot of confidence, and they have a hunger about them. They fancy this today, they are up for it.

    Marko Arnautovic

A lovely move and a really tidy finish from Marko Arnautovic, who drops a shoulder in the box, veers past Cesar Azpilicueta, and fires into the corner after a neat exchange with Manuel Lanzini on the edge.

What a start for West Ham, and what a moment for Arnautovic.

That is his first West Ham goal. His first in eight months.

There are a huge number of empty seats at kick-off.

The no shows are made easier to spot because the seats themselves are white and are particularly obvious at the side of the ground facing the managers as they watch the early stages.

Chelsea have been playing very well in recent weeks but they will be more tired than West Ham, who have played fewer games.

The Hammers had to start the game very quickly and to be fair they have done, right from the off.

Problem is, West Ham will need to keep that going.

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

    Boomed away by Gary Cahill.

Here's Arthur Masuaku with another positive run at the Chelsea defence but then Mark Noble floats a cross too long.

From Thibaut Courtois' goal kick, four West Ham players line up cutting out the short options on the edge of the box. They're up for this, the home side.

  6. Postpublished at 3 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

An early long throw from Michail Antonio seeks out Winston Reid, already taking the long trip up into the Chelsea penalty box.

    It's easily cleared.

Manuel Lanzini now drives down the left wing and is tipped over by Davide Zappacosta.

    Free kick...

Adrian springs up to grab the crossbar, releasing a bit of early adrenaline. Joe Hart has taken his place on the bench today and it's Chelsea who get us under way.

The combination between Hazard and Morata is starting to become something really special.

I have to say, I think Blues fans should be happy with what they're seeing - their side are going about things the right way.

One young West Ham fan pops up on the big screen at London Stadium with the bold shout of 13-4.

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on Football Focus

West Ham were really poor at Everton, better against Manchester City, and today is very important for them.

Chelsea are slowly putting points on the board, they've had a good run with the victory over Manchester United in there and they're moving along quite nicely now.

I have seen a lot of West Ham this year and I wouldn't put their poor performances down to Joe Hart.

He has made mistakes, and people talk of his weakness down to his left side. But is switching the goalkeeper going to change their season or make them defensively stronger? I don't know.

Gav Arnold Luge: Worst weather I ever watched a match in was the 2010 Superclasico - Boca v River Plate. Rain pelted down, pitch was waterlogged, game abandoned after 25 mins. Atmosphere was still incredible though, the best football experience despite the abandonment.

I feel for David Moyes. Imagine taking over a team and having such a difficult first few games. I don't think they'll get something from this game, but if they get a performance at least.

They have the 14th highest wage bill in Europe. They've not been run in the right way. Maybe they need to find a better strategy.

It is perfectly reasonable to keep Adrian in the Hammers goal - he has been playing well.

There's a big fuss because Joe Hart is an England goalkeeper. But I'm sure David Moyes couldn't care less about that - his priority is West Ham.

The decision makes perfect sense to me. Adrian has been good and it's good to have a little bit of competition for the goalkeeper's jersey.

John Bills: Under 13s, home vs. Rhayader, wind, rain, snow, sleet. Most players crying. Dad was manager, lots of ‘get on with it’. Got home, my toenail was black. We won 5-2.

So after a week of speculation we have finally had confirmation that Joe Hart has been dropped. Adrian starts in goal after a good performance against Manchester City.

Yesterday David Moyes didn't want to give his team away but he told me "it's a good problem" to have two keepers vying for the number one jersey. He also wants that problem in more positions across the pitch.

David Sullivan has also made the headlines again. Speaking to the Guardian yesterday, the co-chairman said: “I’m not involved in the strategy. The manager said he wanted Jose Fonte from Southampton and Robert Snodgrass from Hull. My kids begged me not to sign them.”

We will be discussing those quotes shortly on 5 live with our commentary team, Conor McNamara and Pat Nevin.
