Can Brighton turn this poor run around? "We're confident - we got promoted for a reason - and we're going to stay here for that same reason."

Plenty of disparaging comments regarding Newcastle but it would be good to remember we have fielded a starting 11 that cost less than Mesut Ozil!

  14. Alonso and Kante impresspublished at 16:48 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger at Stamford Bridge for 5 live Sport

The most dangerous player for Chelsea has been Marcos Alonso - the left-back - he scored the goal, and he's had two really good efforts either side of the break.

But N'Golo Kante's tackling has been amazing, I've never seen anyone else tackle like he does, you just know any 50-50 he goes in for - he's going to win it.

Ashley Barnes tries to set up Sam Vokes on the turn, but the Burnley substitute can't get his shot away.

    Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

Ex-Chelsea winger at Stamford Bridge for 5 live Sport

There's still a lot to play for here, and Southampton, without being brilliant, are playing with much more intent than at any other point in this game.

  20. Postpublished at 16:43 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Stoke City 0-1 West Ham

Stoke are looking for a way back into it but are susceptible to the counter.

So much so that England keeper Jack Butland had to make two good saves from Marko Arnautovic - ex of this parish - and Manuel Lanzini.

Remember, this match kicked off at 16:00 GMT.
