Benteke was absolutely quality for the Villa! Really hope he finds some form/confidence now.

I talk about Demerai Gray's pace and skill, Palace's Wilfried Zaha has just shown his box of tricks at the other end.

He zooms past three Leicester defenders, cuts in onto his weaker left foot, but therein comes the problem and he rolls a weak shot into the hands of Kasper Schmeichel.

Demerai Gray is the go-to man for Leicester at the moment.

He stands up full-back Martin Kelly and drills in a low cross to striker Jamie Vardy, but the Leicester number nine's flicked finish is straight at Julian Speroni.

Justin Coda: They would have been better fouling Benteke and giving him the penalty.

    Lol.

The game's been played at a very fast tempo, and a few of the Palace players look like they need a second wind, because they've really been on the front foot so far.

Love watching Demarai Gray, so positive, full of pace and trickery. Could he be as good as Eden Hazard if he found some consistency?

The winger earns a free-kick which is headed away by Christian Benteke and Palace then have to scramble to clear the next move.

Defender Harry Maguire almost getting on the end of a corner, but James McArthur nicks the ball away from his toe.

Riyad Mahrez has moved into a no.10 type role now, but he's not had much joy so far. Palace are looking very organised and they haven't looked in much trouble.

The King Power is shook to its foundations, as defender Wes Morgan clatters Christian Benteke in the middle of the park.

    Thunderous challenge.

    Leicester 0-1 Crystal Palace

Leicester now have to show the impetus to get back into the contest, but are facing lines of four defenders, four midfielders and two frontmen all getting behind the ball.

The Foxes are going to have to work something special to find a goal today.

Udo Van Rijssen: Benteke’s header towards his own goal had better direction than his goal scoring header.

    A little harsh...

Palace have dropped off since they got the goal - they were playing so well - but they've really gone off the boil and they're inviting Leicester onto them. But saying that Leicester haven't really created anything yet.

Reaction to falling behind? Very good from Leicester.

There is more purpose in their play, looking to zip the ball into the opposing penalty area.

It ricochets around the box, but Martin Kelly nips it to safety before the incoming Demarai Gray can get on the end of it.

A shout for a penalty from the Leicester players as the ball seems to skip off the turf and onto the hand of James Tomkins, but nothing given.

    Would have been harsh.

Christian Benteke's nearly scored at both ends! He's getting greedy - he's got one and now he wants another - wrong end mate!

    Gary Flintoff
BBC Radio 5 live at King Power Stadium

The silver-haired Roy Hodgson is clearly up for it as much as his team this afternoon. He has spent every minute at the edge of his technical area encouraging his players. The former England manager is clearly happy with what he is seeing. It was written... Christian Benteke with the opening goal.

    Almost hero to villain.

Christian Benteke has netted one and nearly grabs a quickfire second...at the wrong end!

The Belgian is more of a hindrance than a help when trying to help his team out at the back, arrowing an inadvertent header inches wide of team-mate Julian Speroni's right-hand post.

I've got to say they deserve it - what a great ball in from Andros Townsend - he bends it in, with real pace and Christian Benteke just has to get something on it. Thoroughly deserved for Palace.

Look away Mr Matt Morgan. See previous entry.

Crystal Palace have been the better side and fully deserve their advantage. Yohan Cabaye pops a pass off to Andros Townsend on the right. The winger looks up and delivers an inch-perfect cross for Christian Benteke to plant a header into the net from 12 yards out.

Goal drought over but it was so easy for the Belgian, getting in between two Leicester defenders.
