  3. Scoreline a reflection of the gamepublished at 19:04 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Man City 2-0 Tottenham

    Bradley Allen
Ex-QPR striker on BBC Radio London at the Etihad

City did it sometimes last season - they frittered away leads - they made defensive errors. But they haven't been like that this season, they've been imperious, and although Spurs improved in this second-half, this scoreline is probably a true reflection of the game.

  4. Postpublished at 74 mins

    Man City 2-0 Tottenham

Dele Alli swipes a lazy clearance straight back to Manchester City who are humming with intent now. They want a third. The passes are crisper, the runs are sharper. Tottenham are rocking.

  5. 'Absolutely thumping drive'published at 19:02 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Man City 2-0 Tottenham

    Bradley Allen

Electric counter attack from Man City. It was an overload down the left flank, and Kevin De Bruyne, many people's player of the season, has absolutely smashed that shot through Hugo Lloris. He's blitzed through the ball, absolutely thumping drive.

  6. goal

GOAL - Man City 2-0 Tottenhampublished at 18:59 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Kevin de Bruyne (70 mins)

There we go! It's that man again, Kevin de Bruyne. The Belgian picks himself up after that challenge from Dele Alli to double City's lead - from heap to hero.

Hugo Lloris gets a hand to it but just cannot keep it out. De Bruyne's powerful run ends with a firm drive as he dispatches Ilkay Gundogan's pass on the counter attack.

    He absolutely walloped it.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 68 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

This is another really nasty challenge.

Dele Alli sees red mist in the freezing fog as he goes in with his studs up and shoulder blades leaning into Kevin de Bruyne.

It's a yellow card. A really bad challenge though. It could have been red. Pep Guardiola is gesturing furiously.

  8. CLOSE!published at 67 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

Leroy Sane again. He drives inside Kieran Trippier so elegantly but is stretching slightly as he connects with a shot from inside the box - Hugo Lloris paws the ball away, and Gabriel Jesus is offside as he tries to find the rebound but fires over the bar.

  9. Postpublished at 66 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

Harsh that I reckon. Danny Rose is angry that Kyle Walker gets the rub of the green and a free-kick from an England full-back flavoured 50-50.

Rose collects his cool to cover back moments later with a saving challenge on Raheem Sterling.

This match is heating up. Spurs are pressing very high up the pitch.

  10. Postpublished at 64 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

Harry Kane comes deep to collect then sweeps a pass outside to Kieran Trippier - he is always up and down.

Son Heung-Min picks it up and cuts inside, onto his left foot...

That one will be a while coming down.

    Here we go...

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 63 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

The Mousa Dembele yellow card that probably had to come.

He's penalised for a dragging a City shirt that had escaped him. These are stacking up now...

Kevin de Bruyne then ambles into space in the box and plants a low shot well wide of the target. He puffs his cheeks.

  13. Postpublished at 61 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

Tottenham are pegged back now. Everyone behind the ball as Manchester City waste a decent bit of pressure - Raheem Sterling is caught offside down on the wing, with the entire Spurs back-line to look at.

  14. 'Jesus will be disappointed'published at 18:48 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

    Bradley Allen
Ex-QPR striker on BBC Radio London at the Etihad

I think if Gabriel Jesus had been more in tune with the game, having literally just come onto the field, that could have been goal number two for City - he'll he disappointed with that one.

To all the people who equate Man City’s top form with money spent, if it were that simple then Man United won’t be playing this boring and be 11 points behind. Guardiola has bought young and raw players and moulded them into his vision

  16. CHANCE!published at 58 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

What a first touch that would have been!

Gabriel Jesus is played in by a Kevin de Bruyne through ball and Eric Dier just does enough to unsettle the newly-arrived Manchester City forward.

Spurs break down the other end and Danny Rose blazes over the bar. Not great.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 57 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

So no 100th home goal for Sergio Aguero today. He's trundling off - very disappointed to be leaving. Off come the gloves - thrown to the turf.

Gabriel Jesus is on to replace him up front.

  18. Kane getting closerpublished at 18:46 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

    Bradley Allen
Ex-QPR striker on BBC Radio London at the Etihad

Spurs are probing here, moving the ball around nicely. And that was a great turn from Harry Kane - he has that ability to be the focal point and to drop deep and take the ball. Great save from Ederson to tip that wide.

  19. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

That's the first Tottenham shot on target. City have been that dominant - up until now.

Pep Guardiola is up stalking the sidelines, clapping his players on to more.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 55 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

Dele Alli flicks the ball away from Raheem Sterling after playing a one-two with his opponent - lucky to keep hold of the ball.

Tottenham are growing here. Lots of possession...

And WHAT a save from Ederson to tip round the post from Harry Kane - he unleashed a stinging shot from outside the box.
