  2. The Sterling of last season?published at 17:56 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

    Bradley Allen
Ex-QPR striker on BBC Radio London at the Etihad

That miss is the Raheem Sterling of last season. This is the problem for Spurs, if they do open up and play more expansively, City are going to have chances and they've got so many good players to exploit them.

  3. GOOD SAVE!published at 24 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

The home side counter quickly and Sergio Aguero shoots from a tight angle inside the area - well parried by Hugo Lloris and Raheem Sterling smashes the follow up into row oblivion.

Aguero just needs the one more for 100 at the Etihad Stadium.

  4. CHANCE!published at 23 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

    Much better form Tottenham...

...Until Danny Rose over-hits a cross that goes sailing over Ederson's crossbar with two Spurs players racing into the box on the counter.

  5. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 21 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

Bit of a penalty shout this? I mean there were shouts as Danny Rose just nudged Eliaquim Mangala who was rising to head a high ball in the Tottenham box.

Vicente Iborra had a goal ruled out for Leicester earlier this afternoon for doing exactly what Rose just did.

  6. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

I think this may be the first time Ederson has touched the ball. It's a terrible sliced hoof clearance that lets Harry Kane find Kieran Trippier out wide - his cross is too long.

Leroy Sane again gets into a dangerous position in the box - again beating Trippier with ease - but Eric Dier is there to point out for another corner.

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

Straight after the goal City are swarming Spurs at the back. Pressing everything.

Jan Vertonghen slightly over-hits a backpass to Hugo Lloris and the French keeper skids on the turf as he adjusts under pressure

  9. 'Thumping header'published at 17:47 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Man City 1-0 Tottenham

    Bradley Allen
Ex-QPR striker on BBC Radio London at the Etihad

They scored through a set-piece at Old Trafford last week and they've done it again. Ilkay Gundogan has ghosted in, unmarked, and stooped low to head it in. A thumping header.

    Ilkay Gundogan (14 mins)

So easy! Ilkay Gundogan is totally unmarked as he drifts into space on the six yard box and stoops to nod home Leroy Sane's pacy corner.

That's his first goal of the season.

A nightmare start for Spurs. The magic just keeps rolling on for Manchester City. Win number 16 in a row?

Raheem Sterling can run at Danny Rose now. Instead off it pops to Leroy Sane, who tries to force a way through Eric Dier and comes up with a corner instead.

  12. Spurs employing high presspublished at 17:44 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

    Bradley Allen
Ex-QPR striker on BBC Radio London at the Etihad

Clearly Spurs are opting not to drop off City when they're playing out from the back, like some sides have done this season, there's a full press on, definitely.

Whether Spurs can maintain it, we know they're fit, it will be a remarkable physical effort if they can do it, because City tend to have the lion's share of possession.

  13. Sane shows his speedpublished at 17:44 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Etihad Stadium

What a burst of pace that was from Manchester City's Leroy Sane - too much for Spurs and brought the fans behind the goal to their feet.

This game is being played at lightning speed.

  14. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

Honestly, Leroy Sane looks like he's skating on hot butter. He makes it seem so easy as he leaves another pair of Spurs players smoking exit dust down City's left flank.

A chance for the away side to stretch their legs now as the as-nimble Son Heung-Min darts forward, but his cross is headed out of play by Harry Kane, with Kieran Trippier waiting on the overlap.

  15. 'Sane is world-class'published at 17:41 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

    Bradley Allen
Ex-QPR striker on BBC Radio London at the Etihad

Man City are growing into this game - Leroy Sane is an incredible talent - and one of the best in the world in his position, in my opinion.

  16. CHANCE!published at 10 mins

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

That's another one - Sergio Aguero stoops to head a Kevin de Bruyne crossed free-kick just wide of the post. Suggestion of offside - haven't seen a replay - but no flag.

  17. CHANCE!published at 8 mins

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

Leroy Sane breezes past Kieran Trippier down the left wing - as if the Spurs right-back simply isn't there. Into the box he goes, Sergio Aguero bursts into space, but Jan Vertonghen stretches to block the cross.

    Early danger...

  18. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

City try to play it out slickly from the back as they so often do but Harry Winks is on to it quickly and has a chance to find a black Spurs shirt with the home side exposed - but wastes it. Fabian Delph can gather.

Down the other end, a misplaced De Bruyne pass hands possession back to Spurs again - in safer territory this time.

  20. Spurs targeting Walker?published at 17:37 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

    Bradley Allen
Ex-QPR striker on BBC Radio London at the Etihad

I'm not saying that Tottenham think Kyle Walker is City's weak link - but they certainly seem to be targeting him and City's right flank early on here.
