    Burnley 0-3 Tottenham

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Turf Moor

Harry Kane has scored in 14 matches for club and country this season.

Amazingly, in nine of them he has scored more than once.

If Liverpool's Mohamed Salah thought he would easily win the Golden Boot this year, he is mistaken.

  2. 'Could have been seven or eight'published at 19:12 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-3 Tottenham

    BBC Radio London Sport

Former Fulham player Rob Scott: "Spurs have eventually turned this game into a little bit of a stroll.

"It could have been seven or eight really!"

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 83 mins

    Burnley 0-3 Tottenham

Eric Dier makes way for Erik Lamela to come on for the last seven minutes.

This has been impressive work from Spurs - and one man in particular. You know who.

  4. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 82 mins

    Burnley 0-3 Tottenham

They're not giving up, Burnley. They are surely beaten but Steven Defour bursts forward to smash wide now, moments after Ashley Barnes went down claiming for a penalty under pressure from Serge Aurier's aerial challenge. Would have been harsh I reckon, but Sean Dyche quite clearly disagrees.

  5. 'Take your hat off for Kane'published at 19:10 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-3 Tottenham

    BBC Radio London Sport

Former Fulham player Rob Scott: "Whether you are a Burnley fan or of any team, you have to take your hat off for this guy.

"He works hard, he gets into positions and that's it - record equaled. I wouldn't be surprised if he is taken off very shortly!

"He's outstanding. He has got a bit of everything and he works his socks off."

  6. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 80 mins

    Burnley 0-3 Tottenham

Sam Vokes knocks the ball into the net on his head but the challenge on Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris was too strong says the ref - he rules it out.

GOAL - Burnley 0-3 Tottenhampublished at 78 mins

    Harry Kane

Just superb. That is the hat-trick - and he's equalled the record!

Harry Kane is in inspired form. He collects Dele Alli's sharp lay-off on the edge of the box, makes nothing at all of shaping past his marker.

On his left foot, he lines it up, shoots low and hard, right into the bottom corner.

That is 36 Premier League goals in 2017 - level with Alan Shearer's tally of 1995.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 78 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Tottenham

Son Heung-min, who blazed so wildly over the bar shortly before Harry Kane added Spurs' second, is off for a think on the bench as Mousa Dembele takes his place.

Hugo Lloris does well to fence away a Burnley cross that hung long in the sky.

  9. Postpublished at 77 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Tottenham

Dele Alli collects and turns. He bursts towards the box but stumbles just as he reaches the penalty area edge. Looks like he really did lose his balance but the irony is not lost on the home fans at Turf Moor...

  10. 'You can't replace Harry Kane'published at 19:04 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-2 Tottenham

    BBC Radio London Sport

Former Fulham player Rob Scott: "You can't replace Harry Kane like-for-like. The big worry for Tottenham is whether he gets injured or if he does leave.

"I'm sure Mauricio Pochettino is doing his homework behind the scenes to list a few names who could be potential replacements."

  11. CHANCE!published at 75 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Tottenham

Sam Vokes knocks a through ball into his stride but Hugo Lloris is sharply off his line to slide and feet and collect.

Just 15 minutes left for Burnley to somehow find a way back in.

  12. Postpublished at 74 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Tottenham

Kane's second goal here means he is now Tottenham's outright second top scorer in the Premier League era with 92 goals - behind only Teddy Sheringham's 97.

  13. Postpublished at 72 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Tottenham

So Harry Kane has 35 goals in 2017. The most scored by any Premier League player in one calendar year is 36, by Alan Shearer in 1995.

A hat-trick would be one way to do it...

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 70 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Tottenham

Sean Dyche reacts. Striker Sam Vokes is thrown on - with midfielder Jeff Hendrick making way.

  15. 'That's what Spurs were looking for'published at 19:00 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-2 Tottenham

    BBC Radio London Sport

Former Fulham player Rob Scott: "It was again, a mistake from Burnley, and it came straight between the two centre-halves.

"Harry Kane slipped it lovely underneath. It was a good finish and that should close out the game for Spurs.

"That is what they have been looking for. If Burnley get back into this now, I will be very surprised."

  16. goal

GOAL - Burnley 0-2 Tottenhampublished at 69 mins

    Harry Kane

Heartbreak for Burnley. It's such a simple goal that surely kills off any hopes of a home comeback.

Harry Kane is played through on goal by Moussa Sissoko's straight pass beyond the Burnley backline.

He has time, he picks his spot and slides the ball home safely beyond Nick Pope. The record is within touching distance...

  17. CHANCE!published at 68 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

What a brave headed clearance by Kevin Long.

Harry Kane's ball to the back post put everything in Dele Alli's favour, but the Burnley centre-back rose strongly - and was fouled as he nodded the ball to safety under pressure.

  18. 'Tottenham not as dominant'published at 18:57 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

    BBC Radio London Sport

Former Fulham player Rob Scott: "I feel like Burnley are gradually getting their way back into this.

"Tottenham are not as dominant as they were in the first half and Burnley will grind their way into the game."

  19. Postpublished at 67 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

Huge shouts from the Burnley fans as another ball into Ashley Barnes sees the home striker tumble. They want a free-kick or a penalty - it was on the edge of the box - but the flag is up for offside.

    Spurs can't get out here.

  20. Postpublished at 65 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

Well covered by Moussa Sissoko - he sticks out a lanky boot to tip Johann Berg Gudmundsson out of possession.

But this is a good spell for the home side now and Jeff Hendrick gets a chance to cross - Davinson Sanchez rather unconvincingly diverts clear enough to survive.

It comes across again - but Ashley Barnes is holding Sergie Aurier and it's a Spurs free-kick.
