  1. 'Spurs should have put it to bed'published at 18:52 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

    BBC Radio London Sport

Former Fulham player Rob Scott: "Mauricio Pochettino will be sat on the sidelines thinking 'we should have put this game to bed by now' because Spurs have had three or four really good chances."

  2. Penny for Poch's thoughtspublished at 18:51 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    BBC Sport at Turf Moor

Turf Moor is one of the few grounds where the press box is the other side of the pitch to the manager's dug-outs, so it is not easy to pick up the tell tale signs of frustration and joy.

However, it is not difficult to work out what Mauricio Pochettino is thinking.

His side have made a right mess of finishing off this game, blowing three clear chances, a couple of less obvious ones and misplacing passes that would have put team-mates through.

He is sat on the bench now after a period on the touchline with his arms folded.

If the visitors don't see this out, he is going to be pretty annoyed.

Spurs are raising it now. Charlie Taylor has to scramble back to block Serge Aurier's channel into goal from the right wing.

The impish Dele Alli - still getting booed with every touch - is crowded out in the box by Ben Mee.

  4. CHANCE!published at 59 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

Terrible from Harry Kane. First he robs Kevin Long in defence with the help of Dele Alli but then the pass across to Christian Eriksen - into space with a great chance to finish - is way too hard.

Kane then gets a chance to shoot on goal himself and Ben Mee stands firm to deflect wide for a corner.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 57 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

Moussa Sissoko goes in the book for a tug on the escaping Scott Arfield.

Can the home side make Spurs pay for these chances missed?

  6. HUGE MISS!published at 56 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

There's been much more pressure on the Spurs back four from Burnley's front line since the break. The home fans like it.

Christian Eriksen drops deep to start a move. Harry Kane holds up as Serge Aurier bursts clear - the right-back is found and can shoot or slide across to Son Heung-min.

It goes to Son - and he blazes over the bar with a first-time shot. The whole goal to aim at.

  7. 'Pope is still raw'published at 18:43 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

    BBC Radio London Sport

Former Fulham player Rob Scott: "Nick Pope has done well in goal this season. Sean Dyche sees something in him. He has the ability.

He's is just a little bit raw with some of the things he does."

  8. CHANCE!published at 53 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

Poor judgement from Davinson Sanchez who thinks this flick on is running out of Scott Arfield's range and out for a goal kick - or that Hugo Lloris is coming to collect. Neither happens, and the Colombian just about gets away with one by scrambling into touch himself.

From the corner, Ben Mee smashes over on the slice. A centre-back's finishing school.

  9. CHANCE!published at 50 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

This another big let-off for Burnley - and for Nick Pope especially.

It's his poor sliced clearance - another one - that hands Spurs the opening, and after Son Heung-min finds Christian Eriksen in the box, the Dane disappoints himself with a scruffy swipe of a shot that rolls gently back to a very grateful Burnley goalkeeper.

  10. Home fans unconvincedpublished at 18:37 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Turf Moor

They have been replaying the big decisions from this evening's game on the TVs in the concourses at half-time.

If anything, the slow motion replays just hardened attitudes in the home camp that Dele Alli profited from two bad decisions.

  11. CLOSE!published at 47 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

Composure 20/20 from Jan Vertonghen as he briefly juggles an awkward pass facing his own goal on the edge of the Spurs penalty box with Burnley shapes running in on him.

Spurs work it smartly up the field, Christian Eriksen crosses to the near post, Harry Kane stabs at it, but the ball somehow ends up coming back off Nick Pope, off Kane again and out for a Burnley goal kick.

Talk about the luck of the bounce.

  12. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

And we are back under way - Burnley get us restarted.

No changes at the break from either side.

  13. Postpublished at 18:30 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

So to summarise: Burnley are trailing to a team who rarely give up a lead, without their top scorer, in the first of four games in nine days.

Maybe keep the 'Europa League spot at Christmas' drinks on ice - for now.

  14. Postpublished at 18:26 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

More grim reading for Burnley fans:

It is five years since Tottenham lost a Premier League away game they were leading at half-time.

That was a 2-1 defeat by Manchester City in November 2012.

  15. 'Sissoko sees opportunities'published at 18:22 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

    BBC Radio London Sport

Former Fulham player Rob Scott: "Moussa Sissoko's athleticism and work rate allows Eric Dier to sit in.

"He sees the opportunities to attack and he is the first man out of the box to go and close down attackers."

  16. Dele keeps his head downpublished at 18:22 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Turf Moor

Dele Alli wisely kept his head down as he marched smartly towards the tunnel.

He may be one of England's key men - Gareth Southgate is here to watch - but he is public enemy number one in this part of Lancashire tonight.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:18 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

Son Heung-min and Dele Alli exchange once more. More boos for Alli. And that's the break.

  18. Postpublished at 46 mins +2

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

    That's another misplaced pass from Ben Davies - there's been a shed-load.

It's petering out before the break this.

  19. Postpublished at 45 mins +1

    Burnley 0-1 Tottenham

Boomed clear by Harry Kane at the near post.

THREE minutes to be added on.
