    Crystal Palace 1-3 Arsenal

Arsenal send on Francis Coquelin for Alexandre Lacazette - Palace have scored a lot of late goals at home recently and maybe Arsene Wenger is hoping to shut it up.

ScarletVarlet: Resilient Arsenal, playing much better. Tough patch, but back on the front foot and giving better than got.

Craig Smith: Sublime goal by Sanchez. Love seeing Wilshere back to his best. Arsenal just need to keep their concentration and see this game out.

    Nasir: Jack is back!!!

Hector Bellerin sees a cross well cleared as Arsenal keep on the lookout for a fourth. Which would be harsh on Palace. There are more goals in this game I reckon though. The name of Ian Wright is the latest to be chanted - a legend for both clubs.

Wilshere for the World Cup? If there's one place in Gareth Southgate's team devoid of options it's centre mid...

Southgate MUST take Wilshere to Russia. He is by far England's most creative midfielder.

Mesut Ozil scoops a shot over after another good Arsenal attack as Palace send on Bakary Sako for Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Roy Hodgson looks a bit crestfallen.

We can applaud Alexis Sanchez for his touch and composure, but the pass from Wilshere is exquisite. It was a five minute wobble from Arsenal when they lost their way and looked a fraction of the team they looked the rest of the time.

Some of Arseal's build-up play tonight has been brilliant but all three goals have come from some direct football. There were shades of a Luis Suarez goal for Liverpool about that one - was it against Newcastle where he took a long ball on his chest at full pace?

Not quite as good a touch as that, but a very good one indeed from Alexis Sanchez.

Top class! That may be three points in the bag, and it's a wonderful goal.

Jack Wilshere is given time and space inside the centre circle and he floats a perfect quarterback pass over the top, dead weight, Alexis Sanchez takes the ball down on his thigh and flicks it past Julian Speroni.

    Three touches of genius there.

It is a lovely clean strike from Alexis Sanchez. It was a poor clearance from Benteke, he should have just put his foot through it and got it up the field. It is an excellent strike from Sanchez. It is a clean, flat strike with no spin and Speroni had no chance to react as it was so powerful.

Now, let's see how Palace respond. They had been the better side in the second half but Arsenal only needed a few minutes of pressure to find the net again. Now it's Palace in possession. Get it to Zaha!

    Pick that one out!

Arsenal were rattled for 10 minutes or so but they recover to regain the lead through a fine strike. Again, you may question Julian Speroni a touch.

Christian Benteke makes a poor job of clearing a set-piece, Calum Chambers crosses back in, Alexis Sanchez heads it down, Alexandre Lacazette gives him the ball back and from a tight angle Sanchez beats Speroni low at his near post. Crisp hit but could the keeper have done better?

Any ball that goes up the pitch is being contested by Benteke and Zaha. That is important for Palace to relieve the pressure and not allow Arsenal to dominate and get their passing game going.

Arsenal with some exerted pressure for the first time since the break but Palace stand tall and see it out. Scott Dann did well not to foul Alexis Sanchez in the area as they duelled for a header at the back post.

Let's be honest, there's no way Wilfried Zaha will be playing for Newcastle or West Brom. Let's set some realistic targets.

As a West Brom fan, I hope Pardew and the owners are ready to spend in January. Pace and creativity from someone like Zaha would be an excellent starting point!

Wilfried Zaha's name rings out around Selhurst Park. Quite right too.

Only Jason Puncheon (32) and Chris Armstrong (31) have been involved in more Premier League goals for Palace than Zaha (30).

You'd back Palace to win this at the moment. Arsenal are nowhere near the level they found in the last 25 minutes of the first half, when they played some top class stuff.

Mat VP: Is there any team in world football that falls apart quicker than Arsenal when the going gets tough?

Craig Smith: Arsenal punished for lack for ruthlessness. Should be three ahead. Chambers is struggling against Zaha

Garreth Frank: A dominant half of good work undone in one move. Feels about right

  18. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Crystal Palace 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal's balloon has been punctured - you can see the confidence drain from the side since that goal. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is allowed to almost walk into the penalty area under no real pressure and his shot is a disappointment in the end - well over the bar.

  19. 'Lovely ball from Zaha'published at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2017

Townsend makes an angled run from the corner of the 18 yard area and comes into the box near the penalty spot and Kolasinac does not check his shoulder to check where Townsend. It is a lovely ball from Zaha, but Kolasinac is not aware where his man is.
