As it stands, League One's top side Shrewsbury are level 0-0 with slow starters Oldham, while League Two leaders Exeter have gone 1-0 up against Crewe thanks to Jordan Tillson's seventh-minute goal.

    Hull v Sunderland (15:00 BST)

Here's a stat Black Cats fans won't want to hear. Sunderland have not won an away league game in September since 2006.

Their September record since then has seen them collect seven points from a possible 48.

For Simon Grayson's men, it's time to change all that. They whole club seems to desperately need an injection of confidence.

Harry Redknapp may have signed plenty of new, exciting players for Birmingham this summer, including an almost entirely new team on transfer deadline day, but they're yet to pick up the desired results.

The Blues have lost five consecutive games in all competitions.

Today they meet a Preston side who are unbeaten in their past four league games and have only lost once in the Championship so far this term.

And Birmingham have only beaten Preston once in their past 12 meetings in all competitions...

  14. Bluebirds bid to bounce backpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 16 September 2017

Cardiff v Sheff Wed (15:00 BST)

This time last week, Cardiff had a 100% league record.

Just seven days, one battling draw at Fulham and one 3-0 loss at Preston later, and the Bluebirds' mood has changed somewhat.

But it has still been an excellent start for the South Wales club.

Can they bounce back this afternoon against a Wednesday side who themselves will be expecting to be challenging this season?

  15. Under pressure?published at 14:42 British Summer Time 16 September 2017

Both Hull and Sunderland have won just one of their past six games in all competitions, and both of them are yet to pick up points in September.

Neither of them can afford to lose today, can they?

They're under pressure, as some band called Queen once said.

What a time to be alive if you're a Leeds fan. You're top of the league.

Having found an absolute gem of a player in Ezgjan Alioski and looking seemingly unstoppable under new boss Thomas Christiansen, the Elland Road club are dreaming of a Premier League return that feels more realistic than ever before.

But can they do it on a Saturday afternoon at the Den?

  18. Warnock v Wednesdaypublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 16 September 2017

Cardiff v Sheff Wed (15:00 BST)

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium

You can always rely on Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock for a colourful quote or anecdote, and you would imagine he will be fired up for today's game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Warnock is Sheffield United through and through, born and bred in the Yorkshire city and arguably most famous for his eight-year stint in charge of the Blades.

He joked this week that Wednesday are his favourite opponents, and that the welcome he gets at Hillsborough is the best he receives in the entire Football League.

This, after all, comes from the man who said that, when he dies, he wouldn't like a minute's silence or applause but, instead, a minute's booing.
