Sunderland 0-0 QPR
Seven minutes have come and gone at the Stadium of Light and QPR have hosts Sunderland under some early pressure.
Ryan Manning sends in a dangerous cross for the Londoners, but Sunderland scrambled to clear!
Martin Braithwaite
Well that didn't last long. Martin Braithwaite fires in Middlesbrough's equaliser.
Barnsley 1-0 Middlesbrough
The day's first EFL goal has flown there and there is confusion about who gets credit for it - with Barnsley's Tom Bradshaw laying claim to it while Middlesbrough's Ashley Fletcher may have an own goal to his name.
Fletcher used to play for Barnsley, of course!
Less than three minutes played at Oakwell.
Sheffield United 0-0 Ipswich
So for those stat happy football types out there, it is worth mentioning that if Sheffield United were to go top today, it will be the first time at the summit of the division for 12 years!
In the early minutes of their home game against Ipswich, there is nothing significant to report...
We are under way in a majority of EFL games across the land.
Stay with us for updates from the Championship, League One and League Two.
There will be a particular focus on the action at Bramall Lane, Elland Road and the Stadium of Light.
Sheffield United v Ipswich (15:00 BST)
Sheffield United will be looking to continue their flying start to the season by hitting the heady heights of the Championship summit today.
Sure, going top will mean beating eight-placed Ipswich by three, but a Blades side that have won 75% of their home league games under boss Chris Wilder will be confident at Bramall Lane.
While we are looking at managerial stats, we can stack things in Sheffield United's favour even more by pointing out that Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy is winless in his last 17 away matches in the month of October (D8 L9) in all competitions, since a 3-2 win at Watford in October 2008 during his time in charge of Wolves.
Leeds v Reading (15:00 BST)
Leeds and Reading have used 33 non-English players between them in the Championship this season.
Leeds' tally of 17 is the highest in the division, with Reading and Wolves closely behind on 16.
That approach has worked well for today's hosts - they start the game four points off the top of the table, while Jaap Stam's Reading are in the bottom three. It's quite a slide for a team which was a couple of penalty kicks away from the Premier League in May.
You can watch Reading boss Stam share his pre-match thoughts below.
Sunderland v QPR (15:00 BST)
Second-from-bottom Sunderland will be looking to make it... err, 18th time lucky as they look to end their truly atrocious run of home form today against Queens Park Rangers.
The Black Cats are on a run of 17 matches without a win at the Stadium of Light... that is the WHOLE of 2017 to date. Their last triumph in front of home fans was against Watford in the Premier League on 17 December last year.
Ian Holloway's QPR side, who are searching for their first win away from home this term, limped into the international break themselves, collecting three points from a possible 15 in a five-match winless run.
Now for a quick focus on three of the main games in the Championship.
League Two preview
League Two leaders Exeter face a test of their promotion credentials today as they go to fourth-placed Wycombe Wanderers.
Adams Park has not been a happy hunting ground for the Grecians, as they have won just once there in their past eight visits.
Can Chairboys boss Gareth Ainsworth pull off another win, which might see his side move into the top three?
Kevin Nolan's Notts County, who start the day second, will be looking to take advantage of any slip-up as they host Barnet.
And there's a crucial game at the bottom, as rock-bottom Chesterfield welcome 21st-placed Morecambe.
New Spireites boss Jack Lester is still looking for his first point in what will be his third league game in charge, and could do with a result to spark a revival in their fortunes.
League One preview
It's top vs bottom in League One, with leaders Shrewsbury Town travelling to Home Park to face Plymouth.
Argyle have lost their last four, while the Shropshire side are the only unbeaten side left in the EFL, with nine wins and three draws from their 12 games. Surely nothing can go wrong for Paul Hurst's visitors?
Elsewhere, second-placed Wigan host Southend as we've already mentioned, managerless Gillingham go to Peterborough and Northampton Town host fellow strugglers AFC Wimbledon.
Wigan v Southend (15:00 BST)
Now for something a little different in the professional game...
Southend United have made the trip north to Wigan by train today.
And, rather than take a minibus or grab some cabs outside the station, it's doing the rounds on social media that Phil Brown and his squad finished the journey to the DW Stadium on foot.

Maybe the thinking is that the fresh northern air on a 25-minute walk could inspire the Shrimpers to a first win at Wigan since March 1998...
Leeds v Reading: Andy Lonergan starts in goal for Leeds, while captain Liam Cooper returns following suspension; Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, Dave Edwards and Tiago Ilori brought in by third-bottom Reading.
Norwich v Hull: Harrison Reed is one of three additions to the Norwich team which beat Reading; Nouha Dicko and Markus Henriksen replace Fraizer Campbell and Jon Toral for Hull, who beat Birmingham 6-1 last time out.
Sheffield United v Ipswich: Striker Billy Sharp is back from injury to captain the Blades; Adam Webster, Myles Kenlock and Grant Ward all start for Mick McCarthy's visitors.
Barnsley v Middlesbrough: There is one change to Barnsley's starting line-up with left-back Zeki Fryers in for the suspended Jason McCarthy, while Matty Pearson switches from left to right-back and Andy Yiadom is on the bench after injury; Middlesbrough make four changes as Stewart Downing, Ashley Fletcher, Daniel Ayala and Grant Leadbitter all come into the starting line-up.
Bolton v Sheffield Wednesday: Sammy Ameobi starts for Bolton in what will be his first appearance since 30 September, while winger Filipe Morais is on the bench after serving a one-match ban; Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal keeps faith with the same starting XI that beat Leeds United 3-0 before the international break.
Brentford v Millwall: Centre-backs Andreas Bjelland and John Egan return from injury as the Bees make four changes from the draw at Middlesbrough; Jake Cooper replaces the injured Byron Webster at the heart of the Millwall defence and Shane Ferguson comes in for striker Steve Morison, who is not included in the squad.
Fulham v Preston: Fulham make three changes with Denis Odoi returning at right-back and African duo Floyd Ayite and Neeskens Kebano back up front alongside Rui Fonte; Ben Pearson is back from injury in place of Josh Harrop for Preston and Calum Woods replaces the suspended Darnell Fisher.
Sunderland v QPR: Bryan Oviedo comes in at left-back for Sunderland and Duncan Watmore replaces Lynden Gooch; QPR defender Jack Robinson has broken a bone in his hand so Ryan Manning replaces him in the visitors' sole change from the defeat against Fulham.

Saturday's Premier League action

Tell us about your team's most memorable comeback
Today's question is one for the football hopeful, the fan who refuses to give up on their team, the supporter who cherishes the story of the great comeback!
There are three great examples who lead the way in the EFL - Cardiff City at the summit of the Championship, League One pacesetters Shrewsbury Town and table-topping League Two side Exeter City.
BBC Sport statistician Chris Collinson pointed out this week that each of the three sides started 14 October last year second bottom of their division.
So, can Championship bottom side Bolton Wanderers - who have had their poorest start to a season in 115 years and could become just the third team in the history of the EFL to lose their opening six home league games of a season - turn things around this term?
