  3. How things in look in the Championshippublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 14 October 2017

Now for getting up to speed on how things stand in the English Football League.

We start with the Championship where Cardiff start the day top of the table, but they can be overtaken at the summit by both Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves need only avoid defeat in this evening's match against Aston Villa to go above Cardiff, while a big win for Sheffield United over Ipswich (15:00 BST kick-off) would be enough to send them top (for a while at the very least).

At the bottom, Bolton are the only side in the EFL still looking for their first league win of 2017-18.

Two international breaks have come and gone (and there is universal disappointment in your national team), you grumble with confusion as you spot unseasonable early festive decorations for the first time and football managers are dropping like autumnal leaves.
