    • Georgia have won just one of their last 30 World Cup Qualifiers (D12, L17). Their one win came at home against Belarus in September 2012 (1-0).

We all talk about Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, Ben Woodburn coming through, but Ashley Williams has been the skipper for years.

He should have been the choice before Aaron Ramsey was given the opportunity. Ashley was ready then.

He is a quality player and a quality leader.

Chris Coleman said he expected a crowd of 40,000 plus for this contest, however, with less than five minutes before kick-off, that number seems hugely optimistic.

Most of the noise is coming from the Wales fans and most of the blue and white seats in this vast stadium remain empty.

It doesn't quite feel like a home game, but it certainly isn't going to be an intimidating atmosphere for Wales.

  10. How are the play-off places sorted?published at 16:45 British Summer Time 6 October 2017

    Georgia v Wales (17:00 BST)

Let's have a good read of the official Uefa rules.

All nine group winners qualify automatically. The eight best runners-up with the best records against the sides first, third, fourth and fifth in their groups go into the play-offs.

The exclusion of results against sixth-placed sides was retained to alleviate any possible imbalance between the qualifying groups caused by the late introduction of Gibraltar and Kosovo, external.

Wales are in ninth place in the play-off table - only the top eight second-placed teams qualify. If the Republic's points tally in Group D was good enough to put them in runners-up spot, they would currently be eighth in the play-off table with 10 points from seven games and a goal difference of +1. Remember, results against the sixth-placed team in each group do not count.

  12. 'Woodburn reminds me of Bale'published at 16:44 British Summer Time 6 October 2017

    Georgia v Wales (17:00 BST)

Wales defender Ben Davies on Ben Woodburn: "You look at what Ben Woodburn has done coming off the bench. He is another match winner.

"Whether (the youngsters) are involved from the start or off the bench, you know they can make a difference.

"Ben really does remind me of Gareth Bale. The bigger the stage, the more he thrives upon it. A lot of players want to play safe but Ben will relish it and show everyone he is the real deal."

Wales manager Chris Coleman says it is premature to rule forward Gareth Bale out of any potential World Cup qualifying play-off match.

He expects Bale to be out for no more than three weeks, with the play-offs scheduled for 9-14 November.

Coleman also made clear that the Real Madrid forward reported for international duty with a sore calf and did not participate in any training.

"Unfortunately there's a bit of damage," Coleman told BBC Sport Wales.

"It could keep him out a week, two weeks, three weeks, we don't know, we will have to see how it calms down. He's a Real Madrid player so they'll look after him.

"We haven't looked as far ahead [as the play-offs]."

Wales supporters are already making their presence felt at the Dinamo Arena, with a plethora of flags on display.

The Georgians seem to be a welcoming sort, we have even had a rendition of the Manic Street Preachers' official Euro 16 song, Together Stronger, C'mon Wales over the tannoy system.

Whether that hospitality extends to the pitch, remains to be seen.

"Don't take me home, please don't take me home," sang the fans as Wales marched to the semi-finals of Euro 2016.

Now they want to cheer them in a second World Cup, with their only previous finals appearance coming in 1958. However, Chris Coleman's side must play their final two group matches without injured talisman Gareth Bale.

A win in Georgia will be enough to secure a top-two spot if the Republic of Ireland fail to beat Moldova at home. Otherwise, it could come down to Monday's meeting between Wales and the Republic in Cardiff.

Serbia lead the group and will qualify with victory in Austria or at home to Georgia.

  19. No Bale, no chance?published at 16:26 British Summer Time 6 October 2017

    Georgia v Wales (17:00 BST)

It would be easy to think that Gareth Bale's absence from Wales' final two qualifiers with a calf injury signals the end of his side's hopes.

They have not won without the Real Madrid forward since October 2013, when Simon Church's goal gave them a 1-0 win over Macedonia - 31 matches ago.

"Part of what Chris Coleman will say to his team is: 'Let's go and prove to everyone that we can win without Gareth,'" John Hartson told BBC Sport.

"Of course they will miss having Bale out there with them, but they will still believe in themselves.

"We have got other match-winners, and we showed that at Euro 2016 as well as in this qualifying campaign."

  20. 'Georgia have nothing to lose'published at 16:25 British Summer Time 6 October 2017

    Georgia v Wales (17:00 BST)

Wales manager Chris Coleman speaking to BBC Radio Wales: "Georgia have nothing to lose. They are a good team and they could have beaten us in Cardiff on the balance of play.

"Coming into this campaign they came through under the radar but they are not any more. They are missing a few players too but that's international football.

"They are good in possession of the ball."
