What a run from Tom Pratt - the striker who will be working a night shift in a warehouse after this match.

He canters out of his half, elbows pumping like pistons, cheeks blowing like bellows.

A chasing MK Dons player catches his heels but, despite the appeals, there is no free-kick.

    Hyde United 0-0 MK Dons

Hyde snaffle possession with some old-school hustle and bustle and win the first corner of the match.

In it comes, high and hanging, and through the back post.

But it is lofted back in and MK Dons goalkeeper Lee Nicholls is relieved to hear the whistle for a foul as he misses his clearing punch.

That might be a route that Hyde want to revisit...

Former Arsenal defender on BBC Two

Hyde have got to take advantage of the pitch. We're seeing MK Dons pass round like it's their home team. The fake grass is quite long.

It's fascinating to see if they can bridge the gap between the teams.

This was the first decision that referee David Webb had to make this evening.

A flare thrown from among the Hyde United fans landed on the 4G playing surface and left a bit of a dent.

It is good to go though according to the official.

  11. 'No reason not to be confident'published at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2017

Hyde United v MK Dons (19:55 GMT)

Hyde United defender Tyrone Gay, who is on the bench tonight, has just been speaking to Dan Walker on BBC Two.

"We've watched videos of them. We know their strengths and weaknesses and how they play. We are in good form and they're not. There's no reason not to be confident."

On team-mate Tom Pratt working a night shift tonight: "He's back in that warehouse like every Friday night. I don't know how he does it, the amount of running he does in a game too after barely any sleep."

Hyde United v MK Dons (19:55 GMT)

MK Dons boss Robbie Neilson on BBC Two: "It's a great opportunity for us, a Friday night game on TV. It'll be a good surface. We've trained all week on a 3G pitch.

"We've changed a couple of things, there are a couple of players we didn't want to play on it because of injuries.

"I think the FA Cup is a great weekend for everyone. Hopefully it can kick-start some form by us.

"It's a huge game for Hyde, it's their FA Cup final. It'll be a very intense opening 30 or 40 minutes. Hopefully our quality will come through."

In the MK Dons starting line-up tonight is a former Arsenal starlet.

Chuks Aneke - along with former Dons' loanee striker Benik Afobe - was a rising star in the Gunners youth system but never quite made the breakthrough under Arsene Wenger.

After two seasons at Belgian side Zulte Waregem, he arrived at the Dons in August 2016. He scored four goals in 15 league appearances last season.

Hyde's strikers will hope to recreate the ruthlessness of the town's most famous sporting figure in front of goal tonight.

Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton was a multiple world boxing champion after ditching football to focus on the fight game as a teenager.

"I know they've struggled recently but this is terrific for the area and I wish them all the best," he told BBC Sport.

Hyde United v MK Dons (19:55 GMT)

    Paul Ince
Former MK Dons manager on BBC Two

MK Dons won’t be used to playing on something like this pitch. Hyde are at an advantage because of it - they're used to playing and training here.

But the MK Dons manager will say 'let’s not use this an excuse'.

The atmosphere will be rocking. Hyde are used to 300 or 400 but there’ll be over 3,000 here.

  19. Wrong sort of flare on the pitchpublished at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2017

Hyde United v MK Dons (19:55 GMT)

    Hyde pitch

That surface is not quite as slick and smooth as it was 10 minutes ago.

Someone has thrown a flare on the pitch and, like a sparkler on a shell suit, it has burned a bit of a hole.

After the fire extinguisher has done its job, the referee David Webb has trotted across.

He rules that the pitch is good to go despite the charring.

  20. 'Hyde will fancy it on this surface'published at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2017

Hyde United v MK Dons (19:55 GMT)

    Trevor Sinclair
Ex-England and Man City winger on BBC Two

MK Dons will be struggling for confidence, they've lost a lot of games lately. I feel Hyde United will fancy it on this surface. They'll want to make it physical and take MK Dons out of their comfort zone.

Hyde players aren’t in this for the money. They’ll love football. This is a big opportunity to put themselves in the shop window.
