Hyde United manager Darren Kelly: "It is huge. We get gates of about 300 for normal home games and we have around 3500 here tonight. We will have a good night on the pitch and a good night off it. I have told the players that they might have a hero within themselves tonight.

"The occasion looks after itself tonight. I don't need to say anything. The players couldn't wait to get out of the dressing room tonight."

MK Dons manager Robbie Neilson has urged his side to concentrate on progressing and not be thrown by Hyde's artificial pitch and the Friday tea-time kick-off.

"They look for the smaller teams getting an opportunity to play against the bigger teams, but we are going to remain professional," he said.

"They [Hyde] are probably the reason the game is on TV and we have to accept that - this is part and parcel of the FA Cup."

Hyde ecstatic at Dons FA Cup draw

Hyde's average crowd in the Northern Premier League Division One North is just 328.

But as League One's MK Dons roll into town, they are expecting a rafter-ramming capacity crowd of 3,500 at Ewen Fields tonight.

"Every penny counts," explains manager Darren Kelly.

"I think in coming through the last round we made £12,000, that's huge."

But tonight's match is reportedly expected to bring in around £150,000 to the club coffers.

The Daily Mail, who have written a great profile, external of the club's work with local prospects, will put the windfall towards changing rooms for their ladies’ team, renovated toilets and rebuilding a kiosk that fell victim to arson.

Before he was marking the unlikely attacking duo of Hernan Crespo and Woody Harrelson in one of several charity match appearances, comedian John Bishop turned out for Hyde United.

Here he is, back row, third left, in a late 80s team picture.

He made a total of 57 appearances, scoring seven goals.

The comedian has not forgotten his former club despite his rise to fame.

In 2009, he responded to a request for help when Hyde were in financial difficulty and were served with a winding-up order, which was overturned at the High Court.

Bishop donated tickets for his shows to a raffle to raise funds for the Tigers.

Hyde make only one change from the side which won 4-1 at Goole in the league - defender Kyle Harrison replaces midfielder Chris Churchman in the XI.

Matthew Beadle - who starts - is their top scorer on nine goals this season, including a hat-trick in a qualifying win over Boston Town.

Tom Pratt, also in the starting XI, starts a night shift in a warehouse two hours after this game ends. Thankfully for him this game would go to a replay, not extra time.

Hyde United: Crook, Stockdill, Coates, Miller, Harrison, Burke, Pratt, Khamsuk, Lipka, Porritt, Beadle.

  7. Friday night feverpublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2017

A drop of the shoulder, a shimmy of the hips - not Stanley Matthews in his pomp or Juninho samba-ing his way across the Riverside turf.

Nope, it is Alan Pardew lighting up the technical area in the 2016 FA Cup final.

That is just one of BBC Three's collection of embarrassing moment's from the FA Cup's past.

Enjoy, while watching through your fingers.

  8. First or Sixth roundpublished at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2017

Hyde United v MK Dons (19:55 GMT)

This might be the first round, but it is far from the start.

This edition of the FA Cup began less than three months after Aaron Ramsey slotted the winner for Arsenal in the final in May.

The big winners on Friday 4 August were Flackwell Heath, who walloped Burnham FC 5-0 in front of 202 spectators.

Since that extra preliminary set of fixtures, there have been another five rounds just to get to this first round proper.

Hyde have already seen off five teams to make it this far...

    Phew!
