Headline for tomorrow should the score stay the same, folks?

"Saints Pena-lised by Rangers". I'm here all week. Groan.

  2. Five corners in a rowpublished at 66 mins

    St Johnstone 0-1 Rangers

In the name of the wee man! Saint Johnstone win their fourth and fifth corners, each from the previous corner kick! David Wotherspoon and Stefan Scougall must be experiencing a feeling of deja-vu. Anyway, Rangers are defending stoutly as the Saints press and press and press for the leveller.

    St Johnstone 0-1 Rangers

Three corners in quick succession for St Johnstone, from the left, right and back to the left again. The second was delivered by Stefan Scougall and was headed a yard or so wide of Wes Foderingham's goal.

    St Johnstone 0-1 Rangers

St Johnstone midfielder Chris Millar swings in a nice free-kick from the right but Bruno Alves rises to head clear. The hosts keep up the pressure with set-pieces but they are finding the visitors hard to break down.

    St Johnstone 0-1 Rangers

Two chances for Rangers. Carlos Pena shoots just wide of the target and his team-mate Alfredo Morelos, a minute later, hits one on to the roof of the Saints net. Saints alive, but only just.

    St Johnstone 0-1 Rangers

Hmmm. Wes Foderingham, like a firework through the autumn night sky, leaps in his bright orange strip, confident of catching the high ball into the Rangers box. Ah, but who's this also going for the ball? It's Graham Cummins, the Saints striker, and the Gers goalie loses out at first before chasing the ball and smothering it on the goalline, eight yards from the target.

    St Johnstone 0-1 Rangers

Alan Mannus comes off his line to thwart Alfredo Morelos, who really ought to have slipped the ball either side of the Saints goalie. The home defence seemed to freeze, assuming the referee would whistle for offside against Carlos Pena. The Mexican Pena most certainly was offside, but he didn't touch the ball and was running away from goal. Morelos? He seemed to be caught in two minds.

  8. Postpublished at 50 mins

    St Johnstone 0-1 Rangers

Rangers defender Fabio Cardoso is all over Saints striker Graham Cummins like a cheap suit and concedes a free-kick.

  9. Postpublished at 48 mins

    St Johnstone 0-1 Rangers

It's St Johnstone who start the stronger. David Wotherspoon takes a short free-kick to Stefan Scougall out on the left, deep in the Rangers half. The ball finds its way to the edge of the six-yard box where Steven MacLean hooks the ball over his head towards Graham Cummins but Rangers clear it.

St Johnstone have created opportunities. Now they are a goal behind they will have to be more adventurous.

Following the story about Hamilton losing about £750,000 through fraud, Hearts have announced that they too have been stung.

"Heart of Midlothian can confirm it was the subject of an internet fraud earlier this year," reads a statement on the Jambos' official website.

"The matter is now part of an active police investigation and therefore no further comment will be made."

A stand-out player has been Stefan Scougall on the right-hand side for St Johnstone. He has been a thorn in the side to Rangers. As the match wore on Graham Dorrans started to dictate things in the middle of the park. His passing is absolutely superb.

St Johnstone have finished the half well. I thought they had lost control of it. Rangers have been well on top but finishing the first half on a positive note will give Tommy Wright something to work on at half-time.

    St Johnstone 0-1 Rangers

The ball comes too quickly to Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos after a silly bit of defending - attempting to head the ball when it is six inches off the ground - by Joe Shaughnessy. The Colombian had no real chance to head the ball at goal.

There are big gaps down that left-hand side [of Rangers' defence]. I think Declan John is good at going forward but not so good defending.
