  1. 'Tiki-taka with an end product'published at 12:53 British Summer Time 25 October 2017

Brilliant play, bit fortunate with the ricochet but they looked a little bit hungrier and it's game on. Tiki-taka football but with an end product. Time to steady the ship for England, I feel they have been a bit lacking in possession.

GOAL - England 1-1 Brazilpublished at 21 mins

    Wesley (21 mins)

    It's like watching... well, Brazil.

Lovely stuff from the boys in blue and yellow, wonderful one-touch football around the edge of the box, and Wesley reacts first to a Curtis Anderson save to pull Brazil level.

England were so slow to react there. Brazil deserve to be level.

  3. Postpublished at 20 mins

    England 1-0 Brazil

Another big, big chance for Brazil.

It's worked into the England box far too easily, as Marcos Antonio sends Wesley wide and the full-back slips the ball inside to Paulinho.

The youngster, a namesake for the former Tottenham and now Barcelona man, has time to turn and take it on his left, but he drags it wide of the near post.

  4. 'Good shape'published at 12:48 British Summer Time 25 October 2017

    Trevor Sinclair
    Ex-England and Man City winger

Good shape about England, they are not diving in. The defence is staying nice and tight.

  5. Postpublished at 18 mins

    England 1-0 Brazil

There's some tidy footballers out there.

Marcos Antonio has already caught the eye with a couple of neat turns in midfield. The diminutive midfielder skips out of a challenge and looks to set Brazil away, but the pass is overhit.

You'd have to say the South Americans have been on top, despite being a goal down.

  6. 'Home' advantagepublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 25 October 2017

It is 29 degrees out there but England should be used to it, they have played all their group matches in Kolkata whereas Brazil have played at this venue just once, their quarter-final win against Germany.

  7. CLOSE!published at 15 mins

    England 1-0 Brazil

That's a great tackle from the skipper.

Joel Latibeaudiere gets across to pinch the ball away from Brenner in the area and out for a corner.

It's taken short, and Alan flashes a ball across goal. A tap-in for Vitao surely? No! He's put it wide with the goal gaping.

    Let off for England.

  8. 'Great reflexes'published at 12:44 British Summer Time 25 October 2017

    Trevor Sinclair
    Ex-England and Man City winger

It was a good first-time strike, the keeper was up to it but great reflexes from Brewster, a fantastic start by England. It was a good patient build-up as well, they could have slung it in there but they kept it nice and bright and there was great movement in the box.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13 mins

    England 1-0 Brazil

    Frantic!

That's only the third goal Brazil have conceded this tournament.

They're straight back on the attack though, and Steven Sessegnon finds himself in the book as he commits a foul to bring a Brazilian counter to an end.

  10. goal

GOAL - England 1-0 Brazilpublished at 10 mins

    Rhian Brewster (10 mins)

Hat-trick hero in the quarter-final, now Rhian Brewster has put England ahead in the semis!

Callum Hudson-Odoi has been dangerous so far and it's the winger who cuts inside and dinks a wonderful ball for the Liverpool striker to attack.

Brazil goalkeeper Gabriel Brazao keeps the first effort out, but Brewster is there to poke in the rebound fro close range.

  11. Postpublished at 10 mins

    England 0-0 Brazil

It's pretty much shoot on sight.

Weverson this time, trying an ambitious effort from the edge of the box on the bounce - that's high, wide and not at all handsome from the Brazil midfielder.

  12. Postpublished at 8 mins

    England 0-0 Brazil

Well, as soon as I say that, it's the South Americans who go down the other end and test Curtis Anderson.

Marcos Antonio has a pop, and the England goalkeeper smothers it at the second attempt.

Good start to this one. Both sides looking to go on the attack.

  13. Postpublished at 6 mins

    England 0-0 Brazil

First shot on goal, and it comes from England.

It's Chelsea's Hudson-Odoi who uses his strength to win the ball in a dangerous area this time, and the winger feeds it inside to Philip Foden.

Foden has a dig, but it's bobbling around and the Manchester City midfielder can't hit the target from outside the box.

  14. 'England's new breed are technical'published at 12:35 British Summer Time 25 October 2017

    England 0-0 Brazil

    Trevor Sinclair
    Ex-England and Man City winger

It will be interesting to see if physicality comes into it. Over the years it is has been said we are not good technically compared to the top teams but I think our new breed of players are as technical, so how will they do against Brazil?

  15. Postpublished at 4 mins

    England 0-0 Brazil

We've already seen a few touches from the playmaker Alan. He's finding pockets of space in between the England midfield and back four.

The Young Lions work it well from the back though and Callum Hudson-Odoi looks to scamper down the left wing, but he bundles over Wesley and relieves the pressure on Brazil.

  16. Postpublished at 2 mins

    England 0-0 Brazil

Ooof! That was a nervy start from England as a loose defensive header puts goalkeeper Curtis Anderson under pressure - the Manchester City man is forced to nearly carry it out of his area, but manages to drop the ball and England scramble it clear.

Already some pressure from the Brazilians.

  17. 'England will have confidence'published at 12:31 British Summer Time 25 October 2017

    England 0-0 Brazil

    Trevor Sinclair
    Ex-England and Man City winger

My memory stretches back to '93 when we managed to win that tournament in Toulon. The belief you get from winning is huge and the lads will take a lot of confidence if they can win this. Hopefully they can use it at their clubs when they get back home, that's another issue we have to address.

  18. KICK-OFFpublished at 0 mins

    England 0-0 Brazil

Here we go then. World Cup semi-final time!

Brazil in their traditional yellow and blue, England all in white.

  19. Weather watchpublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 25 October 2017

    England v Brazil (12:30 BST)

    Kolkata

With the game already moved 650 miles due to poor weather, we could yet be set for a spot of rain in Kolkata...

...Alan. Brazil's shortest player, but one who is quick to note that size has never stopped Lionel Messi or Andres Iniesta.

“There’s room for tall, medium-sized and short players in football," he said. "My lack of height gives me greater speed and helps my overall game. Just look at Messi and Iniesta, who’s my favourite player. It’s not a problem.

“Palmeiras’ fans already know who I am. I want to break into their senior team first before making any kind of move, and if I do well at the Under-17s World Cup maybe that’ll happen. I’m in no hurry to leave the club.”

Alan starred at the South American Under-17 Football Championship earlier this year, where he recorded six assists in nine matches.
