Spain have played a bit smarter, sat off and allowed England possession. They have been more clinical, getting runners behind and they have made it difficult for England.

What a cross into the six-yard and excellent execution from Brewster – they are back in the game.

  12. goal

GOAL - England 1-2 Spainpublished at 44 mins

    Rhian Brewster

That's what England needed! Deserved too.

Steven Sessegnon flashes in a brilliant cross from the right and Rhian Brewster is well placed to head home, down and in.

That's his eighth of the tournament!

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    England 0-2 Spain

So close! That was almost brilliant from Callum Hudson-Odoi, driving down the left once more, coming inside and then swerving a shot against the base of the far post from a good 20 yards.

The Chelsea man looks a super talent.

  14. 'Better from England'published at 16:12 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    England 0-2 Spain

    Trevor Sinclair
    Ex-England and Man City winger

That looked like physical contact - it was clumsy and the Spain defender was lucky not to give away a penalty. That’s better from England, more positive and good end product.

  15. CLOSE!published at 39 mins

    England 0-2 Spain

Ouch! Rhian Brewster takes a shot from the edge of the area, it hits Juan Miranda flush on the chin and he is sparked out on the deck.

England play on, it's chipped to the back post and Phil Foden heads wide! He was losing his footing and off balance. Great chance though.

    Miranda is OK to continue.

    England 0-2 Spain

Have a dig! Callum Hudson-Odoi lets fly from range but the ball is always high and wide. England still dominating the ball. If they can get the next goal it's very much game on.

To the surprise of nobody, Spain look a very good side now. bolstered by that two-goal lead.

  19. 'A big test of character now'published at 16:03 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    England 0-2 Spain

    Trevor Sinclair
    Ex-England and Man City winger

That’s a real blow, it was a hopeful ball into the box but the finish is an absolute wonder-strike. Most keepers wouldn't have saved that. This is a big test of our character and the desire to get back into the match.

    England 0-2 Spain

England in real trouble now. They've played pretty well for most of the half but it's a big ask from 2-0 down.
