A hairy moment for England keeper Curtis Anderson as Ferran Torres flashes in a dangerous cross, Anderson can only spill it into the goalmouth but he's able to jump on it second time around. Spain having a good spell. It's the most open World Cup final I've ever seen...

Outstanding intent from England. Attacking in numbers once more, Steven Sessegnon overlaps down the right and with numbers in the middle his cross is poor.

Outstanding start, they are really comfortable in possession and are taking responsibility. Encouraging times for England, and similar to the way they started against Brazil.

Goodness me we could be in for some game. That's three good chances in the opening 90 seconds!

First Spain dangerman Abel Ruiz is close to running through on goal and then Rhian Brewster smashes a wonderful early cross in from the right which is just ahead of his team-mates.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 1 min

Useful start from England! They slice through the Spanish lines inside 45 seconds and man of the moment Rhian Brewster finds Moran Gibbs White who toe-pokes one in on goal - good save by Alvaro Fernandez.

England’s performance against Brazil was outstanding, they didn’t put a foot wrong. They have to take the positives from when they lost to Spain in the European Championships – there might be a bit of revenge in the air!

There are four players from Real Madrid, and four from Barcelona in the Spanish starting XI by the way.

You can't separate them. Captain Abel Ruiz has six goals in the tournament, only bettered by England's own Rhian Brewster. He's got hat-tricks in both of the last two games. BIG.

Here come the teams! A terrific crowd in. What an experience this is for these youngsters - all born in 2000 by the way. Which could well make you feel very old.

5/10 for anthem singing lads. That doesn't get any better.

Coach Steve Cooper's experience of playing internationally stretches only as far as the qualifying rounds of the Europa League in the early noughties for Bangor.

Steve became one of the youngest coaches to achieve a Uefa Pro licence when he picked up the top qualification at just 27 and, after spells at Wrexham and Liverpool, was appointed England Under-16 coach in 2014.

Manchester City goalkeeper Curtis Anderson has conceded four goals in five games during the tournament. That is a distinct improvement on his first-ever game of football.

Playing for Crookland Casuals under-eights - a club in Dalton-in-Furness - he was between the sticks for a 23-0 defeat by Furness Rovers.

"At least I was kept busy, unlike the Furness Rovers goalkeeper," Anderson apparently said., external

And it was onwards and upwards from there.

He was signed up by Blackpool before moving to Manchester City in 2012 for £15,000 aged just 11.

It's a very loud atmosphere inside the stadium in Kolkata, plenty of drums and bass. The England players disappeared back up the tunnel a short while ago, with goalkeeper Curtis Anderson necking a whole bottle of water in one. Humid work out there.
