It's a familiar sight already. Brendan Rodgers arrived at Celtic in the summer of 2016 and he's picked up every available trophy since then.

He becomes the first Celtic boss to win four in a row since the great Jock Stein.

Congratulations to the League Cup winners, who started slowly but overcame a stuffy Motherwell at Hampden.

The bad news for the rest is that Celtic don't look like taking their foot off the gas any time soon...

Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong, speaking to BBC Scotland: “Every game we play we put the same energy in. Credit to Motherwell, they caused us some problems.

“It’s another trophy to add and we’re really pleased.

“Everybody shows the same desire week-in week-out. We have a big squad that provides great competition.

“We created history a couple of weeks back and want to keep that (unbeaten domestic) run going."

A very disappointed Stephen Robinson is wrong to say there was no contact.

But was there enough contact to bring Scott Sinclair tumbling to the ground? That's debatable.

It was a game-changing moment and Motherwell will feel sorely aggrieved by Cedric Kipre's dismissal and the spot-kicked tucked away by Moussa Dembele.

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson talking to BBC Radio Scotland: "I've seen [the penalty challenge] back, there's no contact. Cedric [Kipre] hasn’t touched him, the kid's devastated. I can'’t change that. I can only effect things like giving the ball away and getting closer. When you go down to 10 men, there’s no chance after that, against a team of Celtic’s quality, it's a containment issue.

"There's enormous pride, even afterwards. I won’t come out and vilify other team’s players, I just say congratulations to them, but our boys have come out with their heads held high. This won’t be the end of our season."

Celtic have got their hands on the first trophy of the season again. Brendan Rodgers' side are top of the league by three points with a game in hand.

Will we see another Treble? Will we see another unbeaten Treble?

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers talking to BBC Radio Scotland: "This was our first final last year, which was important for us, but what we’ve done in the year since makes teams work even harder to stop you. To win it this time is a very special feeling and the guy’s really deserved it.

"[Motherwell] have shown how determined they are, how organised. Stephen [Robinson] set them up to try to block up the middle of the pitch, so we had to use the side. James Forrest scored a great goal, as he did in the final last year, and then you could see the confidence starting to flow.

"I thought it was tough for [Motherwell] after that. I haven't seen the replay. It looked a penalty but I would have to see it again. Once you're playing 10 men against ourselves, it can be difficult. We played with the 11 v 10 very well, because sometimes you can go loose and sloppy. But we moved the ball well and could and should have scored more goals.

"It’s the start of the season. We’ve got the trophy, which is important for us, but there are elements of the game when we could have been better. The players ticked a lot of character boxes, it’s a special group of players and I've never been prouder to manage them than now. We’re here to add to the legacy of Celtic, our time here is limited and we have to win as much as we can."

Motherwell will need to pick themselves up for Wednesday's rearranged league match with the champions at Fir Park and then these two go at it again at Celtic Park on Saturday.

Just in case you've lost count, Celtic unbeaten domestic run now stands at a whopping 65 games.

Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon talking to BBC Radio Scotland: "I didn’t see an awful lot of [his stop from Louis Moult], and thankfully it stayed out then a few minutes later we got the second goal. It’s a save I’ll cherish for awhile.

"We just want to keep going and stretch it as far as we can. We never look too far ahead. We went on an incredible run of games undefeated and we want to go as far as we can. You can never grow tired of this, with the fans all singing.

"To do what we’ve done in the last 17 months, and play the type of football we’re playing, is incredible. We want to stretch this record for the manager, for all of us, for the fans, so that it stays in history for as long as it can.

"We’ve got a lot of games coming up. We’ve got concentrate on league business until the winter break and try to finish the season strongly as we did last season."

Time for the ticker tape. Green and white pieces of paper sparkle under the Hampden floodlights as the winners assemble for the statutory bouncing around with the cup.

Celtic's first goal-scorer James Forrest tells BBC Radio Scotland: "I'm delighted to get on the scoresheet. We had a lot of confidence form there on in. They started well but we stuck at it and once we got the goal we kicked on.

“Four (trophies) in a row is crazy but we just go on and try to get more."

No messing about. Captain Scott Brown leads the team up the Hampden steps and he's holding the cup aloft as the Celtic fans occupying three-quarters of the stadium break into jubilant song.

Celtic captain Scott Brown talking to BBC Radio Scotland: "It's exceptional, from start to finish we played the game the proper way and put Motherwell under pressure. We were strong enough and physical enough to deal with them.

"They were always going to sit in and play long, with two good forwards up front. They played to their strengths, but we kept the ball and made them run.

"We’ve got to just keep going. That’s the first [trophy] ticked off now and we’ve got to concentrate on the league now and show our spirit to continue this run.

"The more trophies you win, the more memories there are."

Celtic retain the League Cup. After a sticky first half, it was comfortable after the break with James Forrest on target and Moussa Dembele tucking away a penalty after Cedric Kipre was sent off for a wee tug at Scott Sinclair.

That's four trophies in a row for manager Brendan Rodgers.

A moment of consolation for Motherwell striker Louis Moult? No. He steps over a free kick and thunders a great effort against the post. It's just been one of those days for the losing side.

Tom Rogic finds room for a powerful strike from 20 yards but Trevor Carson is down smartly to gather it in. The Motherwell keeper has played very well.

Ten-man Motherwell need only endure two more minutes of stoppage time.
