Patrick Roberts glides past his man like he wasn't there and curls an inviting ball right on to the head of Leigh Griffiths but the Celtic striker makes a mess of his header right in front of goal.

A few Motherwell fans are heading for the exits, it's not a pretty watch for their team right now. It's all Celtic, and their supporters are loving life and making themselves heard.

The Celtic fans roar their approval as Patrick Roberts cuts his way into the Motherwell box with a cheeky nutmeg then squeezes his way through a couple of players before Trevor Carson is able to paw away his poked shot at the near post.

Here goes Leigh Griffiths scampering clear of the Motherwell defence. Goalkeeper Trever Carson does well to stay on his feet and force the Celtic replacement wide and the shot on the angle crashes against the near post.

There's still life in Motherwell as Craig Tanner swings in a free kick from the right and Louis Moult gets his napper to it but there's not enough power to trouble Craig Gordon.

Celtic make another change and James Forrest gets a warm ovation as he is replaced by Patrick Roberts. Forrest must be favourite to land the man-of-the-match bubbly.

There are a few seething Steelmen out there as the game slips away from them. Carl McHugh, already on a booking, is fortunate to escape another for a late challenge.

James Forrest is off on a great run right through the middle until he is stopped by a desperate hack from Motherwell substitute Allan Campbell, who offers no complaints when shown a yellow card.

There are a few tired legs in claret and amber socks now as Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong powers forward, leaving a trail of opponents in his wake.
