  3. 'A game we had to win'published at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2018

    Bournemouth 2-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, speaking to BBC Sport: "We were 1-0 up and suddenly we lost two goals and we don't know where they came from. It is very frustrating. Overall we have to look at it in a very objective and harsh way we made mistakes we should not have made.

"The team that fights against relegation will fight and you cannot afford any concentration mistake.

Did the change to four at the back affect Arsenal? "Maybe a little bit but 1-1 was not good enough for us. We had to win the game. I think if you look again at the second goal we made many mistakes and that is what we paid for."

On Alexis Sanchez: "Half in half out, you never know this kind of situation during the transfer period. Anything can happen at any moment. That is why I decided to focus on the game."

We're still waiting to hear from Arsene Wenger.

Not even had the hint of him popping out to speak to the media so instead I'm watching the groundspeople tend to the pitch while some trance music plays in the background.

  7. 'A famous win'published at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2018

    Bournemouth 2-1 Arsenal

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, speaking to BBC Sport: "A huge win for us. Every win in the Premier League is important. It was a tight game, not a lot in it but we showed the spirit and desire to come back from a losing position.

"I am delighted with the attitude of the players today. Our fitness levels were very good today, statistically we are one of the fitter teams in the division.

"In this division if you can get two or three wins your whole outlook can change, then if you get two or three defeats it all changes, we have just tried to be very stable.

"We will enjoy tonight, that was a famous win for the club."

No anger, no frustration, no disappointment, just acceptance that this is what Arsenal do now. One or both of Kroenke and Wenger have to leave for this story to stop repeating itself.

    Steve Claridge

Arsenal could come out of this week eight points off the Champions League places, it's been an awful week for them. They haven't improved on last season whatsoever, in fact they seem to be regressing, it's a really tough situation for Arsene Wenger.

    Bournemouth 2-1 Arsenal

Bournemouth's Callum Wilson, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is fantastic. I didn't realise that [first Premier League win against Arsenal]. We needed to pick up our home form and we did that today.

"It is a massive lift. We need points against whoever we play at the minute."

Jordon Ibe, who scored his first goal for Bournemouth: "It was a special moment. I have been working for this for a while but credit to the boys for setting me up. I am happy with the win."

    Bournemouth 2-1 Arsenal

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Bournemouth have stuck at it, they've stayed in the game even when they were under the cosh, and they've had two moments of quality to open up the Arsenal defence. Since then, it's been all about dogged defending, they really deserve this.

Ian Shepherd: Xhaka was a solid defensive midfielder at his previous club. I think he's been told not to tackle for Arsenal. I thought we were getting another Petit when he signed. But he doesn't work nearly hard enough.

Darren Jones: Any other club in the top-flight would be sacking their manager after such poor results but Wenger seems immune to it. What must he do for the board to get wise?

    Chris Lord: I miss Szczesny.

  20. Arsenal have spurned some massive chancespublished at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2018

    Bournemouth 2-1 Arsenal

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

It will be a massive win if Bournemouth can get there, because Arsenal had a few massive chances earlier in the game. But they spurned them, sat back, allowed Bournemouth to come onto them, and now they're trailing. It's something only Arsenal can do.
