  1. YELLOW CARDpublished at 31 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Arsenal

Another booking for Bournemouth and it's a harsh one. Danny Welbeck runs across Simon Francis before falling to the ground. No push by Francis, who didn't really do much wrong.

Still, he's going to have to tread carefully now.

Richard Gardner: These are trying times for us Arsenal fans, a few wilderness years ahead without significant investment?

Christy: Wenger should have let Sanchez go in the summer, he's just been a distraction so far this season.

    This is better, though.

Jack Wilshere hits a pass first time into space and Alex Iwobi is on it. He hits a low ball behind the defence but there's a bit too much pace on it. Right idea, though.

Sanchez is a class act and a winner so was never going to stay at a club with a manager who has no ambition other than to collect his staggering £200k a week. WENGER OUT.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal's attacks are a bit too predictable at the moment, Bournemouth players wise to their moves.

Granit Xhaka makes a promising dart into space but Alex Iwobi telegraphs his intended pass and the hosts cut out the ball.

Not the most thrilling of starts to super Sunday. Might have to downgrade it to so-so Sunday soon.

Ben: Without Sanchez and Ozil this is a mid-table team at best from Arsenal, just awful how far we've fallen.

Casio: Arsenal losing Sanchez and maybe Ozil is huge. Walcott is off too. They are big players and who are Arsenal going to replace them with? A Bordeaux winger called Malcom? Give me a break. Clubs getting worse and worse...

You can't just leave your leg in to get crunched - Dan Gosling has to move his leg there - and because of that it's a foul. It's a clear foul and the booking is a woeful decision

Looks like Alexandre Lacazette has shaken off the knock he picked up. Good news because the Arsenal bench is hardly packed with attacking strength.

Garreth Frank: I realise we have injuries, but Arsenal’s bench is terrifyingly mediocre. With Walcott also on his way, we need serious investment in every department.

Brody McColgan: Talented but never been a grafter? Has Al Wilkinson ever actually seen Sanchez play? Hardest worker in the team when he actually cared.

Rashid: As Arsenal fan this is a sad saga of big player not performing in order to leave the club. What Sanchez does not realise is that he is sure starter for Arsenal, but might not be for his future team.

Dan Gosling gets the game's first yellow card after taking a tumble following a challenge by Shkodran Mustafi. Referee Kevin Friend felt Gosling was looking for a free-kick.

Mistake by Steve Cook in the Bournemouth defence as he hesitates on the ball for too long and Danny Welbeck sticks in a boot, poking the ball forward but Asmir Begovic is alert to the danger and off his line quickly to clear.

A concern for Arsenal because Alexandre Lacazette is currently hobbling around the pitch...

Luke: Has to be Man City for Sanchez. No other reason for Wenger playing him against Chelsea in the League Cup in midweek. Now, he can't turn out for City against Arsenal in the final if both teams get there.

Sheldon: Mkhitaryan would be ideal for Arsenal if Sanchez is off to Man United.

Sergio: Sanchez deserves Champions league football. Arsenal under Wenger can no longer guarantee that!

Excellent attack by Bournemouth, Ryan Fraser quickly getting down to the byline before whipping the ball low and hard into the area. Fortunately for Arsenal, Petr Cech is there to grab the ball out of the air.

  16. Wilshere to the World Cup?published at 13:45 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2018

    Bournemouth 0-0 Arsenal

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

I think it's too early to say whether Jack Wilshere should be on the plane to Russia this summer, he needs to offer more, and I don't think we even know his best position yet. Is he a holding midfielder, someone that plays in a No.10, someone that plays in a midfield two or three? It's difficult to get the best out of someone if you don't know where to play them.

Jack Wilshere is showing no signs of injury after coming off early in the second half against Chelsea in the League Cup with a knock. In fact, he's arguably been Arsenal's best player so far, always looking to create.

Asmir Begovic is tested for the first time as Alex Iwobi fires one in from just outside the box, forcing the Bournemouth keeper to push the ball behind at his near post.

The corner comes to nothing, but Arsenal's showing in these first 10 minutes will settle a few nerves in the away end as to how their side will get on without Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

Al Wilkinson: All those saying Sanchez would be a great replacement for Coutinho need to recognise that Klopp's Liverpool is built on attacking football, talent and - crucially - hard work. Sanchez doesn't fit the mould. Typical Wenger signing: talented but never been a grafter.

Al Marcus: For all Arsenal fans who say they don't care where Sanchez goes - that's stupid. If he goes to Man City, fine they are not a direct rival, but Man United?
