It's a pasting for Hibernian in Aberdeen...

David Fraser: Hibs fans walked past me at half time asking the quickest way to the train station.... bye bye.

Stewart Macdonald: Ambrose is a pudding.

Gerry McGuigan: That's Neil Lennon's bubble burst about being second best team in Scotland, he'll be regretting that comment.

  2. Hat-trick hero...published at 68 mins

    Aberdeen 4-0 Hibernian

Gary Mackay-Steven receives a standing ovation from the Aberdeen fans as he walks off having scored three and generally proving instrumental in an impressive Dons display of attacking intent.

He's replaced by Scott Wright with Pittodrie bouncing.

  3. Dons showing no mercypublished at 67 mins

    Aberdeen 4-0 Hibernian

Far from taking their foot off the gas, Aberdeen are pressing for a fifth goal. Ryan Christie sees his effort blocked with the Hibs defence all-at-sea.

It's delightful. A joy to watch. He sets it up and then just curls it towards the back post. The goalkeeper had no chance. A superb hat-trick.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 64 mins

    Aberdeen 4-0 Hibernian

Hibernian frustrations are threatening to boil over as Steven Whittaker chops down Graeme Shinnie.

Neil Lennon, in the away dugout, sits ashen-faced. In sharp contrast, Derek McInnes is buzzing about like a musketeer coaxed out of retirement for one last hurrah...

  6. goal

GOAL Aberdeen 4-0 Hibernianpublished at 61 mins

    Gary Mackay-Steven

If you're going to net a hat-trick, why not do it in style? Gary Mackay-Steven shows sublime skill cutting in from the left before receiving a pass from Stevie May and curling a shot beyond Marciano into the bottom corner.

    That was Messi-esque!

  7. Aberdeen 3-0 Hibernianpublished at 59 mins

Here come Aberdeen again. It's the Dons v Brandon Barker at the moment, with the hosts winning by a comfortable margin.

Simon Murray trots off to be replaced by Oli Shaw as Neil Lennon makes his third and final Hibs change.

  8. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 56 mins

    Aberdeen 3-0 Hibernian

Another penalty appeal, this time for Aberdeen as Graeme Shinnie tumbles in the box under the close attention of... Efe Ambrose.

Eagle-eyed Bobby Madden takes a long look before the whistler says "no penalty" and saves poor Efe from the abyss.

  9. Barker on songpublished at 54 mins

    Aberdeen 3-0 Hibernian

Hibs may be trailing but Brandon Barker is growing into this game and is proving a real thorn in Aberdeen's side.

  10. Transfer News - Celtic close on Compperpublished at 13:44

    Chris McLaughlin
    BBC Sport Scotland

"Marvin Compper, a 32-year-old German defender at RB Leipzig, was over in Glasgow earlier this week for a look around. I am told he was pleased with what he saw, and talks are ongoing.

"Brendan Rodgers was criticised for not having an extra centre-back during the Champions League campaign, and Celtic are pretty positive that he will sign in January.

"The fee will be round about £1m, but the deal has still to be done. It is a break from Celtic's usual policy - they usually got for younger players - but they want to bring in someone who can help bring on the younger players."

  11. Aberdeen 3-0 Hibernianpublished at 51 mins

A half chance for the visitors to reduce the deficit but the forehead of Anthony Stokes fails to find the net.

Seconds later, Brandon Barkley sprints in on goal but perhaps should have thought about a pass to Stokes before the Aberdeen defence get back; Simon Murray tumbles in the box and wants a penalty.

Referee Bobby Madden is having none of it and play rages on.

  12. He's behind you...published at 48 mins

    Aberdeen 3-0 Hibernian

The home fans inside Pittodrie roar a comedy "oooooooooooooh" every time Hibs defender Efe Ambrose is in possession.

Ambrose appears unfazed by the pantomime calls as he seeks out a team-mate.

Football can be a cruel game!

This is Aberdeen's best performance of the season, particularly in midfield, where they have been outstanding. They have been superb, and you wouldn't be surprised if they scored more goals in the second half, the way Hibs are defending

Aberdeen are leading Hibs 3-0 at half-time and you've been having your say...

Martin MacKinnon: Efe Ambrose has been Aberdeen's best player.

Karen Jessiman: Fantastic half-time score, time to park the bus in the second half. Hibs will come out fighting.

Chris Buchan: So does Neil Lennon still think they are "2nd best in the country"?

  20. HALF-TIME Aberdeen 3-0 Hibernianpublished at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2017

A compelling first half sees the Dons coasting at the break. Hibs, on the back of a nine-month unbeaten run away from home, started brightly but Graeme Shinnie's opener and a double from the impressive Gary Mackay-Steven see a rampant Aberdeen in command.

Hibs have offered precious little, save for a rasping John McGinn drive on the stroke of half-time.
